Hey all, new member here (obviously)

Just picked up my first PV a few days ago, and so far I'm liking it. For the inquiring minds out there, I went with the Joye 510-T based on the recommendations of a local ecig store clerk. Haven't had many urges to go back to analogs since making the switch.

I do, however, have a few questions about the 510-T's tank system. It seems as if it doesn't wick the fluid over to the atty as well as it should. For example, if I drip a drop or 2 straight from my fluid bottle directly onto the wick, I get a great vapor level and throat hit, however, once that initial 'prime' runs out and the wick relies on the tank for fluid, the throat hit and vapor level drops down to a pretty un-satisfying level.

Any tips to rectify this? Thanks!

Welcome aboard! Yes, you need a new tank. That's the beauty of vaping items, you can find what works for you, as cheaply or as expensively as you want to get. In fact, you can get dripping atomizers that work just like you described, you drip in a few drops and vape in and then repeat. You can get top feed atomizers like a Vivi Nova tank that wick more effectively or bottom feed atomizers like the Kanger Protank that have liquid pushed down on them. Both have replaceable coils and wicks so you can put in new ones easily when they are done. Then you can (if you want, no reason you have to) get into Rebuild-able Atomizers, which is the next step up in learning curve.

Read some more of the forum. You'll find out how to clean your wicks and coils to keep them tasting fresher for a longer period. You'll also read about all the different types of equipment, flavors of juices, etc.

I can't really think of any way to improve your eGO-T's performance, aside from using your own drip tip and sticking with manual dripping. My first PV was an eGO-T and I gotta say, I felt like I could do better.

The great thing about eGO is the versatility in terms of system attachments. There's literally a HUGE selection of atomizers, cartomizers, and tanks out there for you to try. I won't name any specifics but I will recommend a few vendors you can grab some 510 attachments to put on and give a try:

Madvapes - Electronic Cigarettes, E Cigarettes, E-Cigs
DiscountVapers - Your source for savings on electronic cigarettes and accessories, Go-go eGo, vGo
Sun Vapers is a premium Kanger reseller in San Diego County.

And if you have any questions about details, always ask! I like to do my homework when it comes to vaping and trust me, it pays off :2cool:

I should probably mention its a 2 day old kit that came with 5 empty tanks, 2 batteries, and 2 atty's, it just seems like the wick should be able to deliver more fluid to the atty from the tank since dripping a drop or two directly on the wick makes such a big difference initially.

If there's no way to fix that, I guess I'll take HauntedMyst's advice and switch my setup to a drip-type system :D either way, vaping is a lot of fun so far, and I'm sure ill end up getting way deeper into it before too long.

Dual coil rocks. :) Also low resistance is much better in my opinion. :) Drip is nice too. If you like to fiddle with stuff, your time isn't super valuable to you or you are really low on cash you can't go wrong with rebuildables. I Have 2 of them, one can be run with a dual coil configuration if I decide I want that, and another one is reconfigurable from tank to drip mode. I forget the names (vivi nova is one I believe). I got mine from VapeAnonymous. If you need to know which is which you could ask and I'm sure they would be happy to help you or someone else will post about it.

I am definitely a tinkerer lol, I taught myself automotive repair, computer programming, and a ton of other stuff just because I felt like learning something new. I'm sure i'll end up the same way with vaping before long.

AncientWorld, would a setup like the one you are describing work on a 510-T battery or would I be better off with a different battery if I went that route? Thanks!

The Joye 510-T battery is more commonly known as an eGO. It's probably the most common battery in the e-cig market and has 510 and eGO threading for attachments. Any 510 connection device will attach to this battery, but I should point out that, unless you have Vision Spinner or eGO Twist Variable Voltage batteries... dual-coils will not perform that well for you. You're better off sticking with single coils.

The eGO-T 510-T system refers to the refillable tank cartridges you put in the top of your cone atty (which also serve as a mouthpiece). This system is, by most vapers, considered ineffective with poor flavor, tight draw, and usually insubstantial vapor production. From experience I know this to be true.

I'm going to refer you to Baditude's amazing guides explaining the eGO beginner setup and what types of attachments you can use with your batteries. (Hope he doesn't mind!)

The great thing is that, even if you like using the tank style cone attys (or not), you have a plethora of choices to use should you decide to try something new. I usually recommend an eGO-Twist Variable Voltage/Vision Spinner with a Protank II. It's a BCC and has replaceable coil heads (around $5.00 for a 5-pack) which makes it an ideal setup for easy vaping. They have their own issues though, which you can read plenty about here on the forums, but they're still outstanding tanks and most vapers thoroughly enjoy them, myself included. They also work just fine on regular eGO batteries like the one you own.

Hope that answers your questions, happy vaping :vapor:
