The "510" refers to the Joye510 - the number simply refers to the model number of the design.

As a total sidenote - for those of you thinking about going back to 'analog' cigarettes.... I just woke up once again feeling like someone is sitting on my chest. Nose is stuffed up, throat is sore from snoring... again. I just woke up and I already feel tired.

I actually wrote that more for myself than anyone else - I need to make sure I remember the bad so I can eventually get myself off them.

Hi all, today i received my starter E cig, as a few people at work use them. It tastes a bit strange, but i heard if you order different flavors of juice, they are quite an improvement. I am serious about quitting analogues, so i hope these help !! I will give the E cig a good try anyway. Its helpful reading all these posts....Thank you !!!

Have patience...I couldn't taste my e-cig for at least a week when i first got it. The less analogs you smoke the better your taste buds become.

Good Luck

correct me if i an wrong you havent got your pv yet?

That is correct.... and I'm getting more anxious as the minutes go by.
It should be here tomorrow at the earliest, but probably Saturday.
(fingers crossed)

So in the meantime I've been reading reading and reading... soaking up all the info on this site like a sponge.

ETA:
I can see how my previous post could have been confusing...
Yeah - to be clear, I haven't yet gotten a PV and am still smoking 'analog' cigarettes.
Though I have to say, they are becoming less and less attractive to me the more I think about what I could get out of vaping instead. So yeah, that note about me feeling like crap this morning was a reaction to me having smoked too much last night - and just a way for me to go back and remind myself how I felt because of these things...

I was just wondering....Did anyone experience any withdrawal symptoms when they switched from analogs to vaping? Since you are still getting your nicotine, you would think there would be no withdrawals, but I wonder if there are any withdrawal symptoms from the other 4000 chemicals they put in those nasty things? I am still smoking a pack a day and (checking my tracking # every 5 minutes) waiting on my sidesho to get here. I ordered it Thursday and I can't wait!!!

OH MY GOD I am in total shock.

Like I said at the start of this thread... I'm not putting any pressure on myself to quit smoking just yet. To be perfectly honest, I'm not certain that I plan to completely quit just yet (I know, that's probably a terrible thing to say, but I am simply trying to be honest with myself). The thing is, I still really enjoy smoking... what I hate is when I find myself smoking when I don't really want to (I assume all the exsmokers here know what I mean).

So what am I in shock about?
I started using my 510 yesterday for 'real.'
Meaning, I got it over the weekend... i got the feel for it, etc... and yesterday was the first day I actually started using it in my regular routine. I told myself I wasn't going to deny myself an analog cigarette if I really wanted one.

I have smoked for nearly 17 years now. I've only 'quit' one time...going 2 months without smoking in all that time. I smoke between a pack and 1.5 packs a day...so roughly 25 cigarettes a day on average.

Yesterday I smoked 3 analog cigarettes. I know that may still sound like a lot of many of you... but I can't remember the last time I only smoked 3 cigarettes in a day.

As of today I have smoked one (which I literaly just finished).

With no effort whatsoever... I have smoked less in the past two days than I ever have in years. And what REALLY shocks me is.... I just finished that cigarette and to be honest ... I DID NOT ENJOY IT. At all. I can't get away from the smell... and the taste was just... ugh.

Wow.

I am honestly speechless.

I'm still not putting any pressure on myself - but wow.
I can't thank all the people on this site enough for helping me get into vaping.
Your advice and suggestions helped me sidestep some of the issues I may have had otherwise...and made my first foray into vaping an incredibly pleasant and successful one so far.

Wow.

Congrats! I'm glad you finally got your 510. I smoked for 13 years and quit smoking the day I got mine. I've been using it for 5 and a half months. I had some urges to smoke the first couple of weeks but held back. Now I have no urge at all to smoke analogs. That's great that you have cut down so much in such a short period. The health effects that you will feel might help you want to cut them out all together.

I tried an analog about 2 months in just out of curiosity and I couldn't take more than 3 drags before I started to feel sick and had to put it out. Never touched one again after that.

Quick update (not that anyone is interested but me, and I figure this is as good a place as any to chronicle my vaping adventure).

I have not yet quit smoking analogs all together... partly because I realize I didn't have the right kit to keep me going (just got additional batteries today, so that shouldn't be a problem). I also got a Tornado today...hopefully my last 'big' purchase for a little while...and WOW, this thing is awesome.

Point is - normally by today I would have smoked at least 100 cigarettes this week (a pack a day, minimum, since monday). Wow, it's mind boggling to me when I see that number written out like that.... pack a day for 5 days... 100 cigarettes... minimum.

Instead - thanks to my PV, I have only smoked 7 analogs this week.
That might still sound like a lot - but I have to remind myself that is what I would have normally smoked before lunch on a regular day.

And by the way - two of those were last night because I was out with friends and my battery died on me. With the tornado, and additional 510 batteries for my wife, that shouldn't be an issue anymore.

So yeah - i'm a total broken record...but WOW, I wish I'd started vaping sooner.
This is fantastic.

I haven't been this happy in years.

Oh - and I should add the bulk of those smokes were all at the start of the week....
today may wind up being the first day without an analog. Haven't had one yet, and haven't felt the urge/need/desire at all.
