I started lurking here about a month ago and found this to be the best place to learn about getting someone started with E-cigs.
I don't smoke or Vape myself but wanted to get my mom off analog cigs. She's 62 and according to her she's been smoking since she was around 6 years old. Her older brothers would give her their cigarette butts to finish off. The doctor told her she has to quit and gave her the patches but she had never gone a day with smoking and the patches where no help. She switched to vaping 2 weeks ago just like it was changing from one brand of cigarette to another!
She went to her doctor today and he was excited she had quit smoking. She took her e-cig with her and he had not seen one before but was very interested in them.

After researching the forums and watching a-lot of youtube review videos I set he up with the KR808D-1 with extra long 380mah batteries and a passthrough all with manuel buttons. then bought adapters to go from the KR808d-1 to the 510 and 801 along with the atomizers see what worked best for her. I'm glad I did because try as I may I can't get the Cartomizers for the KR808 to consistently produce vapor whether they where pre-filled or refilled. The Joye 510 atty died. At 1st I thought it was just flooded but gave up after 2 days of cleaning and drying. The 801 was most impressive in the youtube reviews and has really been a dependable workhorse with a huge cartridge that will last her all day. She has no problem pulling the cartridge off, refilling it. It's a little bigger but she likes it because it has always worked. I have another 510 atty coming so she can give the 510 another shot. I went with the SLB brand atty this time since the 801 is made by SLB. Only complain on the 801 is trying to get the cap back on the cartridge after filling it.
Now I am looking at the bigger battery mods. I want to get something with a AA sized 2200mah battery with a button that is a little easier for her to find and press with having to look for it.

What a good son! Wish your Mom continued success form all of us here. If she likes the 801 you might want to look at the version 3 Stick. It's very lightweight and the button is easy to find and easy to push. I like mine so much I just ordered a 2nd one. The batteries don't last as long as some of the bigger battery mods, but it can be used plugged in to a USB port or a wall adapter that goes from outlet to USB while it's recharging.
