Hi all.

I'm fairly new to vaping (2 1/2 weeks) but have been lurking around reading this and other forums for a few weeks now. You all seem so lovely, helpful and welcoming so I finally came out of the lurkers closest and joined!

I'm in the UK and for the first 5 days used an Njoy Halo e-cig. Fairly happy with it, flavours not bad at all and good vapour but it only came as non-refillable (unless I want to void the warranty on batteries) cartomisers and only 5 or 6 flavours.

I quickly decided to buy a Titan 510 and have happily been clicking checkout buttons for Boge cartomisers (absolutely HATED fiddly cartridges and attys) bigger batteries and loads of 5ml sample sizes of juices from various vendors. I love my Titan and the vast range of juices. I really need to sit on my hands now to stop myself from buying anymore until I work my way through at least half of my 35 5ml samples! I still use the Halo but only when I can't be bothered to refill a cartomiser!

Absolutely love vaping. First day I cut analogs in half and now on just 3 1/2 a day and slowly making my way down to 0. Hoping to be done with the cancer sticks with 4-8 weeks.

Welcome out of the woods and into the light Cyberpixie. Glad you could join us here at ECF. That's great to find the PV for you. Don't worry about ending the analogs, it will come in time and most people just forget to have one and that's how they stop. I did the same thing, cut down to half a pack the first day I got my first PV. I went with the 808 and then to an Echo. I'm with you on the cartos and a fat battery.

Welcome, and congrats! A lot of people started with the Njoy, and by all accounts it's passable but not great. The titan is a much better E-cig and cartomizers have improved in the last year to the point where most of them are very good indeed. I became a carto convert a few months ago and love them.

As has been said don't worry about pushing yourself to quit. For most everyone it comes naturally with time; vaping is such an effective substitute that you do indeed just kind of forget to have one eventually. My first night when I got home to my first PV (an original eGo) I took my first vape, then another, then another ... before I know it it's midnight and I simply hadn't thought to have a cigarette. I didn't want or need one. It was fantastic. The first juice I got wasn't very good (I learned quickly that I really don't actually care much for tobacco-flavoured liquids -- which didn't bode well for the 90ml I ordered to start me off) but I used it up and have been migrating to better and better stuff since. Still haven't found my perfect juice but I'm working on it. As I'm sure we all are, in perpetuity. :)

Hi Cyberpixie from another UK vaper. The more the merrier, there does not seem to be many of us yet! Welcome to ECF and to vaping, and good luck in your cutting out the analogs completely. I did it after 37 years and I feel great for it! Just keep on going and never give up, if you feel unsatisfied try a different vape system or up your nic strength, change your flavours, whatever. You will find the place where the cigs become irrelevent and the vape gives you everything you need and it's pretty darn good :thumb:

Thank you :0) I too feel that tobacco flavoured may not be my thing, the few I've tried hasn't really done it for me. Am loving the sweet flavoured ones though, I have a sweet tooth and have found I've actually lost a few pounds in weight since starting to vape! It all feels too good to be true lol I've already started to notice some physical benefits already despite still smoking a few a day. I wish I'd made the switch years ago. Actually I did try 3yrs ago for a day but was put off as the kit I bought was rubbish!

I have a 4.2v echo battery on its way to me as well as a passthrough. Just a quick question about it. The higher voltage, does it mean the strength I'm using which is anywhere between 8-12mg seems fine for me (I used to smoke really light cigarettes) does it mean a bigger hit at once of the nic using a higher voltage?

That's a pretty common theme. A lot of people start out with cheap E-cigs and many times disregard the whole concept as rubbish because they didn't like it -- which is a shame, because the right PV makes a world of difference.

Higher voltage does tend to mean a little bit of a warmer vape, with slightly more throat hit, vapor and flavour. Your Echo battery will actually run at about 3.7-4v under load (when you're pressing the button) but you'll probably notice a bit of difference. With the strength of liquid you're vaping it shouldn't be enough of a difference that you'll find the need to reduce the strength, though you might find you do better with slightly shorter drags. It just depends on how it hits you. Try it out when it arrives and you'll find your sweet spot with it quickly.

Thank you Mindfield. Always helpful to have a more increased TH, I think that battery will help me when it comes to lowering and cutting out the analogs altogether. Will keep in mind to try it out to start with with shorter drags!

I feel so welcomed, I feel like I've come home :0) Thank you. Hugs all round!

TH is never unwelcome for me -- but then I vape 24mg, so I like it bold. :) For very light cigs you're probably right around where you should be at 12mg. Also take note that your TH will be effected by the liquid you get and how much propylene glycol (PG) it contains versus vegetable glycerin (VG). More PG means stronger throat hit and bolder flavour but weakened vapor production, while more PG means thicker, slightly sweeter but muted flavour, less throat hit but greater vapor volume.

And ... welcome home. :D

I've been using mostly PG, I've already found all VG makes my throat feel all phlegmy and clogged. Planning on experimenting with 35% VG and the rest PG with my next order of juice.
I have found in my limited experience that some flavours I don't get so much of a TH with. Such as an 11mg maple one, barely any TH, yet with a blueberry 8mg it had a really powerful TH, I actually coughed lol

Definitely, the flavour can have a lot to do with it, as well as what the flavour base contains. I can't have a lot of VG myself simply because the last time I did, apart from it being really thick, the vapor was so dense it may me cough like mad. I'm fine if the VG has been pre-thinned with water or alcohol, and I'm good with even 50/50 PG/VG mixes, but pure, undiluted VG just feels too much like inhaling a lake.

I think that's half the battle. Finding a few juices you really love. So far I've found a grand total of 1 lol It's all good fun though trying them all!

I'd say I've tried over a hundred flavors by now, and have found only 4 that I'd consider favorites. The strange part is, I only purchased one of them; the other's were random free samples or passed on to me by others that didn't like them. The point is, try everything you can ~ you never know when you'll find the perfect one for you.

Good luck getting rid of the analogs. I bet it won't take as long as you think it will :thumb:
