Hi all,

I have been a smoker for 27 years (30 a day) and 6 weeks ago i purchased an ego c starter kit from TW in UK. I have been successful in not smking any more real cigs now for these 6 weeks but and currently experiencing problems.

I didnt like the cig flavour and have been using fruit flavours from a company here in uk (DV). This is a 80/20 pv/vg mix and i have been using 36 mg strength. I have tried 2 different companies ejuice (sample packs) but they all have the same burnt taste which is really horrible (both of these companies have really good reviews and are popular). Yet when i switch back to the DV brand i dont get the burnt taste.

The main thing that is important to me is the throat hit which i am getting but after reading lots of threads on here and elsewhere i feel i should be getting a lot more flavour than i have been experiencing, even with my DV supplier.

A lot of reviews i have read and watched have said the tank system produces very little flavour. Is the low level of flavour due to the EGO c tank system?

Do cartomisers provide better flavour?

Do cartomisers provide good throat hit?

If i baught a cartomiser system, would i be able to use my 2 x ego c batteries (thus lowering the cartomiser system expence?)

Could some1 recommend a cartomiser system? Perhaps a good starter kit, or one that can use my batteries?

Hope someone can help,

Shaun

Shaun I recommend just getting a plain old ego battery and some cartomisers or 510 atty's to try dripping on. I suspect you won't be getting the bunt taste you are now experiencing. With using a 36mg juice you should be getting plenty of throat hit already. :vapor: I'm not sure if the eGo C's are compatible with the a regular 510 atty since they use a tank system so you may need to buy an ego battery made for using 510 atty's or cartomisers. www.cignot.com would be my choice for an ego starter kit.
Let me know what you decide to do!

Shaun, are you using the pre-mix of DV or the concentrates? I find that adding concentrates to e-liquid is better because you can add more flavor. I have the ego-c and and the T and the flavor I get from the c is awesome! I also like a lot of throat hit. I've tried the Totally Wicked cartomizers and they did give me more throat hit, but a lot less flavor. Yes, you can use your c batteries -- all you have to buy is the cartomizer. However, cartomizers are disposable products so they don't last too long, but are cheaper than atomziers.

Hope this has helped you!

Throat hit is derived from the nicotine not the device or adding anything..... The eGo c uses a hollow point type atty which is not conducive to dripping or using cartomisers to my knowledge but I may be wrong.
I don't know if the eGo C is compatible with using regular 510 accessories.
edit: After looking closely at the battery for the eGo c it does appear to possibly be compatible with other 510 products so maybe you can use 510 atty's and cartomisers but I'm not 100% sure. If so try some boge cartos from Spring Vapors they have awesome prices on cartos!

Perhaps someone with both products can chime in for you.

I just screwed on the cartomizer to my e-goC battery and it fits. You can buy this prefilled with tobacco or menthol at Totally Wicked for about 5 pounds. Here is the site in the UK 510 Dual Coil XL LR Cartomizers (3 pack) - Tobacco.

OR, peeps are really raving about Totally Wickeds new 3.5ml or 6 ml dual-coil atomizers. I don't have them, but if you vape a lot, these hold a lot: 3.5ML Dual Coil Tank - Single

You may want to go to the Totally Wicked forum to read about what peeps are saying about the new dual-coil atomizers.

Would the ego c batteries i already have work with a cartomiser system? Or would i have to buy a full new system?

Shaun

The batteries you have should work fine with pretty much any 510 (or 306) threaded carto or atty. I would strongly suggest a bit of experimentation with different devices on those batts. I'd get a good 306 LR (my pref.) or 510 LR dripping atomizer and drip tip for direct dripping. This is the best way to test different juices & get the purest sense of what they're supposed to taste like. Next I'd try some Boge LR cartos, some SmokTech LR 1.7 LX cartos, and probably SmokTech DC 1.5 XXL cartos. These are just my personal preferences and I don't suggest buying them all at once, but I DO suggest getting a good dripping atty or two and a few empty Boge LR (2.0 ohm or less) cartos to try. Also, watch the Youtube videos on filling cartos, dripping, using tanks and so on, if you haven't already. Everything you learn free online is something you won't have to pay to learn in the marketplace. Good luck, and happy vaping! :)

Perhaps you should try lowering the Nic level before anything to see if the flavor improves or not. I know nicotine doesn't make the flavoring taste burnt per se, but have you ever had vaped 36mg without it tasting burnt?

Try boge 510 cartos (2.0). Make sure that the filler is FULLY saturated. If it still tastes burnt, then try swapping cartos. If it still tastes burnt, again, make sure the filler is FULLY saturated.

Otherwise the only culprits would be the flavor and/or nic level.

P.S. -- If you are really looking for more flavor, I would go with the new dual coil tanks as peeps are saying great things about the flavor and like I said, when I used the cartomizers, I thought the flavor was dulled.

I don't see how a tank improves flavor. All it does is keep you from topping off your carto. A fully filled carto will not taste any different than a carto in a tank. But +1 for the tank. Best $20 I spent thus far in the vaping world.
