hey all

Last week I took delivery of my black intellicig evo which I am amazed by.. since then I have had 2 normal cigs and that was when I was out and had a few drinks!

So the geek inside me now wants to know what mods or things i can get to improve my experience.

Am I right in thinking any e-liquid is suitable for my device?

Also, I am looking into getting another battery.. do I have to use the one from intellicig or can i buy elsewhere?

any tips would be much appreciated!

cheers!

I also started on M401/M402 which is what Evo is a modified version of (I think Evo has the pointy atty bridge so they can use foil on the carts instead of a real silicone plug?). There is little you can do to improve it. It is about look and being slim and is very weak in the options department, and has incredibly annoying tiny carts. but it does deliver flavor nicely.

1. If you have auto batteries you could buy manuals (safer from leaks and more control of your hit, less work) but I really would not throw money at it (the way I did for 3 weeks)

2. You can buy the precut blue foam for 510 at strictlyejuice.com and cut a piece down as cart stuffing. Search Youtube for M401 blue foam and cut it like him but instead make the plug about 3/4 the inner length of the cart's tiny juice cup and a smidge wider - just enough to help it stay in place and not so much that the little holes in the foam get pressed closed. Taper a bit of the inner end. That will let you reuse the same cart over and over with eliquid. Blue foam holds its shape well and can easily be rinsed and pressed totally dry with paper towel. On a full fill, fill the juice cup 1/2 way with liquid, press the foam down into the liquid to get it wet (an unbent smooth small paperclip helps). Reposition the foam at the top end of the juice cup and top it off with 1-3 drops of juice - whatever it needs to look damp and not a puddle. Then get the juice cup back down into the mouthpiece without pressing on the stuffing.

3. Upgrade in a few weeks like most people do. I upgraded at the end of my first month to both Joye 510 manual (which I use with Boge cartomizers, and slim ecigs need standard resistance) and KR808D-1 manual (Vapor4Life and I have one SmokelessImage battery). Been happy with those for 8 months. I do not recommend auto batteries nor any clone models of 510. However, for the short 180mah 510's NoSMokeVA.com has nice PCC. These cartomizers like thin juices - I use juices with 20% VG or less - you may be able ot use a bit more but I think the drag and carto life suffers. I can get a week of use out of one cartomizer by keeping it damp. These cartomizers hold a full ml of juice (20-24 drops) and need juice added at about 1/2 empty. The KR808D-1 also has a variety of prefilled cartos. 510 w/ a Boge carto gives a moister warm vapory drag. KR808D-1 gives a drier less vapory drag with more TH (because it is higher voltage). These models are thicker than Evo at about 9.2mm thick and look slimmest in dark colors.

100mah is about 1 hour of moderate vaping

Joye 510 180mah
Joye 510 mega xl 280mah (and 128mm long w/ a carto)
KR808D-1 shorty - 180mah (210mah for Volt?)
KR808D-1 standard - 280mah (320mah for Volt)

Hello & welcome Dave :)

Yes, you can use any e-liquid to refill the cartridges you got with your Intellicig :)

For your first upgrade, I would suggest a Riva, either from Liberty Flight UK (use discount code ECR69 for 15% off

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

Liberty Flights also sell the M series batteries & atomisers
Electronic Cigarette - Batteries - M401
Electronic Cigarette - Atomizers - M401/2/3 Series

Or the Riva kit from vape escape - use discount code allabout for 10% off -

The Riva 1100 Deluxe Kit [Ideal for beginners] £32.99 - Deluxe Vaping Kits - Riva 1100 Kit Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

As for mods, the better ones stocked by the UK suppliers tend to sell out very quickly & choosing one is usually down to personal preference :) here's complied list of some recommended UK suppliers, most are also registered here on ECF. Several of them sell big battery mods -

All about e-cigarettes - Recommended & new suppliers (e-cig/juice sellers)

Dave, it was so much easier in some ways when I started vaping just over 3 years ago - so little to choose from way back then. In fact there wasn't even any e-liquid available in the UK - only prefilled cartridges :)

Just take everything one step at a time :)

I started out on an M401/402 as well and as the mouse said the cartridges are incredibly annoying. I ended up drilling through two of the cartridges and dripping straight on the atty until a 510 kit came in.

madvapes sells a 401 to 510 adapter so you can use 510 hardware on your current battery, but if it was me (and it was) I'd replace the whole kit if I could swing it. If you want a bigger battery you can do pretty well for not a whole lot of money and get something that's more compatible with the cool stuff than your current e-cig is.

hey all

Last week I took delivery of my black intellicig evo which I am amazed by.. since then I have had 2 normal cigs and that was when I was out and had a few drinks!

I started vaping with the Intellicig EVO almost two years ago. Went from 2 pad to 1 pack per week with the first puff. My breathing improved so dramatically within 24 hours that I ordered my 2nd starter kit just 2 days after my first one arrived (2 complete ecigs didn't feel like enough, 4 (+ extra charger & juice) was good.

So the geek inside me now wants to know what mods or things i can get to improve my experience.

I never tried any mods. I did get a syringe & 20 guage needle to make refilling those tiny carts easier. 3 ml syringes last quite a while. Put transparent tape over the printing on the syringe to prevent nicotine juice dissolving & removing it. You might want several syringes for different flavors.

If/when you get tired of refillng those tiny carts - try dipping:
- remove the cart from the mouthpiece
- put 20 or so drops of nic juice in a bottle cap - enough to immerse the visible part of the metal-mesh bridge of the atomizer.
the mesh will soak up enough juice for 8 or 10 or even a dozen puffs (ie. - about 1 cigarette)
- put mouthpiece (minus cart) over atomizer & enjoy

If you find you like dipping then get something like a contact lens case and put a different flavor in each side.

Am I right in thinking any e-liquid is suitable for my device?

Yes.

Also, I am looking into getting another battery.. do I have to use the one from intellicig or can i buy elsewhere?

I have switched to generic 401 batts & atts - they are interchangeable with Intellicig equipment.

any tips would be much appreciated!

cheers!

Eventually you are going to get tired of the short (401) battery life. Pick up an Ego kit and a couple of 510-t0-401 adapters.
Compare the 510 atomizer with the 401 atomizer. I prefer the 401 myself, but I like the longer Ego battery life.

Good Luck & Keep on vapin'

My second ecig was the evo and I did like it then, still have the batterys.
If you really like the evo you can get some M401 cartomizers, you can order some from electronic-cigz if you wanted to give them a try as well.
Might be easier than dealing with the little cartridges which was what I found to be the major draw back of the evo.

Wing.

The good thing about the intellicig I guess is that an awful lot of places (some you'd not even expect) have starter kits and replacement cartridges there in the shop for you here in the uk. I've spotted intellicig in a few newsagents now. Should mean if you're caught with little to no supplies and in need of a new cart you won't have to wait for mail delivery to get some.

There my praise for the device ends I'm afraid. I'm glad you're happy with it and it's introduced you to the wonderful world of vaping, but I doubt it will satisfy your long time needs. They have short battery life (barely an hour in my experience before it needed charging) the pre-filled carts are tiny and come filled with the frankly horrible (imo) tasting ECOpure liquid. You could spend ages pushing the little inner cart up, washing out the wool with tweezers and refilling them if you really want. But could risk killing your battery dead if you do however since it's a automatic and even the slightest bit of juice going down into it it might kill them...

I'd say stick with it, see how it goes for you and then, once you reckon you are into vaping for a long haul consider an upgrade to a 510 threaded device. An ego style or Joyee style is a reasonable upgrade into the world of your own liquids, cartomizers and resistance settings and more etc. If you'd rather make one giant leap and cut out this 'sorta middle man step' (not always, a lot stay on ego styles and it works for them just fine) consider the larger mods, the e-power is an affordable entry into large P.V battery vaping and can be got in the uk from a number of vendors. If you have money to spare (yeah I know, unlikely right!) devices like the provari, silver bullet, alpha ultramax and the Reo are some of the best mods you can get in terms of quality P.V's.
