Hello, all. This should probably go under juice reviews, but I am a newcomer in the vaping world, so I thought this would go best filed as "wow, juice difficulties for a noob thread". Hopefully, I can help someone out here.

Started vaping and accidentally quit smoking on the 14 of Nov. Was just planning on getting a PV for awkward moments, you know...those analog times where you feel like a social leper. Well, turns out that vaping is far better than smoking analogs. I actually had a boo-hoo fest in the middle of my first week, mourning my identity as a smoker. And so it goes.

My dilemma: I ordered the 510 from esmokeytreats, which had great shipping, great customer service, and a great website. Love this e-cig. Also ordered three juices, which tasted great and had a fab TH (for the record, they were menthol, vanilla, and coffee). After three days or so, I found that my throat was killing me, my nose was bleeding, and I was drinking approx 14 glasses of water, with no relief. I live at a high altitude, so chalked it up to this for a couple days, then did a little more reading about the effects of PG. My son, who is highly allergic to everything under the sun, also started to break out with an eczema attack, and red eyes, with me vaping in the other room. Yeah. So I made a switch to VG. In the meantime, a coworker ordered the (PG, I'm guessing) apple cider juice from Johnson Creek, and gave me some, which I loved (less sore throat and nose bleeding, but still present, and my son still showed symptoms). So, I ordered the Red Oak Sampler from JC, and it arrived, and...

Oh. Man. This was yuck. All the flavors have this strange wood flavor, and remind me of accidentally inhaling a huge whiff of fireplace smoke. I ran through them all the first few days, desperate, terrified that this is what VG has doomed me to. No more sore throat, bloody nose, son is not breaking out, but they all taste awful. Bad, like when you run out of your fav brand, and you have to smoke some horrible brand because you are desperate, and an addict, and this will have to do for now. I am way past the "settle" stage of smoking, so this was hell. The least bad were the Wisconsin mint and the island, so I rotated them throughout the day, mourning the wonderful apple cider my coworker was vaping (man, that was good). I ordered from American E-liquid store, Vaperite, and Wordup. Days passed...

Tonight, the mail finally gave me the first two shipments (Amer E-Liq and Vaperite). I was rationing out the remaining Red Oak, struggling not to replace a cart, even though the JC juice was becoming cement in them, determined that there would be a light at the end of the tunnel. Oh, joy, there was:

I ordered the Apple Cinnamon, Irish cream, and three other samples from Amer E-Liq. Those two are amazing. The irish cream is smooth, very strong (good) taste of whiskey and cream, good TH. The apple cinnamon is very sweet, no TH, but lasts and lasts. They are SO THICK I almost couldn't squeeze them outta the bottle (and I let them warm up, since we are chilling in the teens and I knew they would be close to frozen). I haven't tried the other three yet, because these two were really good. More to come on these, probably. These rhave crazy vapor. The apple cinn tastes particularly good with the nice chardonnay I am sipping on right now.

I only tried a bit of the Vaperite toffee. It was sent so quick, I figured it might need a day or two to steep...but the organic toffee was good so far, smooth and rich. I think it's gonna get better. They also included a sample (I picked waffle, smells yummy)...but I'm waiting until I can learn the cartomizer fills until I try all the flavors.

Long, long story short: if PG isn't working for you, and you want to try VG, order from a couple different vendors. I'm not dissing Johnson Creek...I think it would work for a certain type of smoker, but I smoked minty ultra lights, and never cared for tobacco/smoke flavors (vegetarian here, don't enjoy the taste of smoked things). I made it through the week w/o an analog, which is great, but I hoped it would get better. It did. And if they could create a VG apple cider, I would be set forever....

Great story! I have found the juice hunt to be the best part of this journey. Yes, order different juices from different places! Everybody's taste is different, so you have to find the right juicery for you.

As for the VG apple cider . . . at Gourmet Vapor, you can mix your own flavor combination. You could come up with many different mixes for your own special cider recipe. They offer all custom PG/VG mixes.

Welcome to ECF and enjoy your vaping journey!

When I first started out, PG didn't agree with me either. I started reading threads about DIY. Consequently, I started making my own. I've purchased some flavors from various vendors that offer a bigger VG ratio over PG and they are wonderful. If you find a flavor you like but can't order it in straight VG, contact the vendor. Alot of them will make it to your specs. I've seen this time and time again on ECF. I've never tried JC, and after reading this, I don't think I will. Some people love their stuff and others don't. I like smoked stuff but not in everything.

Mrs. T makes an apple cider but I don't know what her ratios are. But I'll warn you, her juice leans towards a perfumey taste so steeping in a must in this case.

You might contact FreedomSmokeUSA. I bet David could set you up.
