...does it exist? So far I've tried the eGo-T and Echo, and my experience has been very mixed. The cartomizers will start out great but after a day or two will deteriorate quite a bit in regards to vapor production. I've tried basic cleaning (soaking in water, flushing with a syringe) and my experience with this has also been mixed... sometimes a cleaning will restore vapor production quite a bit but sometimes not much at all. I'm not really interested in acquiring the tools for an advanced cleaning/rebuild, nor do I really want to have to fiddle around with cartomizers to keep them working. So, my question is, is there a product out there that can match the performance of a new eGo or Echo cartomizer, and can maintain that same performance with little or no maintenance?

It appears your issue is with the heating element: atomizer, cartomizer or tank. So the answer to your question is: No.

You can definitely do much better performance wise with the battery part of the PV and the electronics that controls heat and consistency. The variable volt Darwin provides 21+ hours on a charge and allows you to use any atty/carto/tank in any size and adjust the power to suit the element and then maintains the consistency right up to when the battery needs recharged.

But it can't make the atty/carto last longer, not get gunked up, etc. I do think the 801 attys/cartos hold up better but they too will deteriorate.

You might want to look into dripping. No carts/cartos, just put a few drops right into your atomizer and vape away. Obviously this has it's limitations (good luck dripping and driving) but if you don't want to mess with cartridges or cartomizers, your options are limited.

And wv2win... you keep plugging the darwin... I'm sure its a great PV but at a $245 price point, it's not something most of us are going to look into, especially those of us looking in the New Members Forum for helpful information. Not trying to dog on you, I'm sure it's a great PV!

based on what I've read so far I'd get a true tank system. SOmething like a reo or you can get a liquinator for your ego (pretty sure they fit on those). You basically have the 'fresh cart' taste and vape as long as the tank is full. Also as long as you keep goo in the tank you keep the wick wet which will prolong the life of the cart inside the tank since it'll never dry out or get "burned" .

Mind you this is based on my reading and not experience but I'm considering the same issues you are and the solution I've come up with is to get a carto tank system like the liquinator.

The reo is a different beast it's a bottom feeder, you can keep your carto topped off or use an atty and it's like dripping without having to drip. If that appeals then there are a lot of options, the prettiest in my opnion is the GLV3, very cool lookin mod imo.

The downside of the liquinator is going to be the tank itself, it has the ability to slide around, it's a little bulky, etc. Not as easy and pocketable as an ego/riva or other 510 mini bat.

Like has been stated cartos are meant to be disposable. As a matter of fact many of them say good for 2 or 3 refills. I normally get much more then that but 2-4 days is normal for lifespan.

So now I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong ... my first online order (2 weeks ago) was for an ego T 1000mah, 1 pack of 5 dual coil cartos and 1 pack of 5 clearos...

I hear you saying that 2 - 4 days of carto life is normal, but I'm still using the 1st carto I opened nearly 2 weeks ago now. Is that unusual? I do clean it out with hot water between refills, but it's had maybe 10 refills in the 2 weeks...

Did I just get a really good set of cartos?

I also notice on the clearo's that if you have a dark colored juice it turns black in there and generally looks nasty, eww :D

I've found it really depends on the nicquid. Higher VG juices and darker juices tend to gunk up a carto quicker than thinner, clearer juices. I don't generally use cartos, but I have some clearos that have lasted a few weeks and others just a day or two. Boges tend to only last me a few days before the filler starts creating an off taste that I can't stand, so I just toss 'em.

Personally I'm a big fan of dripping. For me, it (and my Darwin -- Sedateme ;)) gives me the most consistent flavor and vaping experience.

I would say you are doing it right!! Maybe it is your juice or maybe they are better cartos. I vape 60/40 12 mg juice and it gunks up my stuff pretty well. Once I get gunk deposits my cartos start tasting burnt and I can't stand them.

The eGo-T passthrough is the way to go with the 1100mah batt. I'm using the eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer as well and the vapor production is great.

That's a great combination. Great performance and the overall size of it offers peace of mind on dark streets too. Looks rather imposing. ;)

Yup. I totally agree. I can vape a light colored juice in a carto for many days...
Unfortunately my favorite juices destroy attys and cartos alike...
I've tried cisco Ike... All of them ...the darker vg juices are merciless on coils.

haha! yes, that's true. that dual carto is a beast for sure!

No doubt - And that battery has probably never been called "dainty" either. :D

My passthrough battery is a copper color - with that black carto on top it looks like a big Duracell.

But all that aside - it is a nice vapin' combo that's pretty hassle-free.

New people buy the Darwin, also. And most new people eventually upgrade. I know what works well and what works not so well. Even if only for future thought, I like to give new people a reference point. Unfortunately, you get people in here who have only vaped for say a month and on just one or two models instead of say 15 different ones, but still think they know that there isn't anything better than say a 510 or 808.

Plus the guy was asking for no hassle "cloud machine" devices, which infers a better model such as a Darwin. If he had asked about auto mini models I would not be mentioning a better model.
