After the hours and hours I've spent researching e-cigs on the net, with about 60% of that time being done in this forum, I can't say I disagree with you entirely. I've already seen that particular rule of thumb several times. Actually someone repeats it pretty much every time a person asks for advice on which model to buy when starting out. However, as far as any rule of thumb goes. There are always exceptions. And sometimes big things come in small packages.
Will this give me as much vapor as something like the Prodigy, or even the ever popular 510? Probably not. And it probably won't have as strong of a throat kick either. But it does do a more then adequate job of both. Actually an exceptional job considering it's size. Plus it has at least a 4 hour battery, with people saying they get more like 5 to 6 hours before it needs charging. That's impressive, and not to many of the larger e-cigs can say that. Some minor trade offs? Yeah, absolutely. But it's unlikely that any first time user such as myself will notice.
For what this is, and how well it does its job, the pluses far outweigh the negatives.
Also, in my short time as a forum member here, I've already seen quite a few posts from experienced vapers saying they find themselves using this particular model more then their 510's, or other e-cigs they own. So there must be something about it.
And as far as the coolness factor goes. I may, or may not be cool, but this little baby just oozes coolness. I can guarantee people will ask to look at it, and undoubtedly say something like, "Wow, that's really cool". In fact, some will say those exact words.
The M401 Dragon has style and panache, and it's a conversation starter. All these things combined make this a good solid unit. So, while dragon owners may not have the very best vaporizer out there. We could do a lot worse.

You made some good points. Everyone is different. I've read that the 401 is little more sturdy than the 4081 as example. I will suggest one thing, however. If you find you enjoy vaping with the 401, then don't try a Prodigy or bigger battery device. Once you do, you will find it difficult to be satisfied with the little PV's. I occassionally pull out my 901 just to remember what it was like. It's like I'm not vaping at all, just pretending.
Good Luck.
