I've had mine for almost 2 months now and use it everyday, I have version 1 that has no Ego threading on the top (wich I prefer the looks of) and no vent holes in the cap, mine would vent flame and gas through the button :) I only use AW IMR 18650's and a LR atty so Im not concerned about it at all. Great device and very versatile considering the different battery configurations. I love the switch, very boss indeed.

Thanks again for a great review that is entertaining and in depth.

Not sure these semi vary voltage's are going to last a long time on the market at this price. I just can't see a new vapor getting this over an ego or smaller (or cheaper) device, or a more informed shopper just getting a true variable voltage device (if that is something they want). That price is a bit insane, a year ago it would be competitive but today there are just to many mods out at such cut throat prices.

Price and function wise it just occupies a strange place in the world of devices.

edit: Ignore the above I thought I was posting on the
[h=2]The Akston Hughes SVR[/h]
the indulgence is definitely not an over priced mod

I think the $39 price tag I paid was well worth it considering its an all mechanical mod :)

I agree.

There is still (and will always be) a niche market for the very high end of this type of device - think Golden Greek - but the lower end is sure to be replaced by mass-market VV devices.

However, if there is some unique selling point about the device, such as its appearance (think - Hex Copper) then "vari-volt by changing batteries" may well be around for a while.
