A question and introduction.

Alright so I started vaping about 3 months ago with an old e cig that my sister had. It's a MVP 20w with a Protank 3. I've had a bunch of problems with the Protank 3 (leaking, coils quickly burning, no taste) I'm looking for bigger clouds and better taste. I tried my friends Kanger drip box and enjoyed the flavor/clouds it had. I even rewicked or for her. But I want to stick with a tank. So I was thinking of getting Kangers 120 or 200 watt box (would it really make a difference? Which would have longer battery?)or even just their 75watt box. I'm still not sure what would be best for me. For the tank I was thinking of getting the avocado or goliath(maybe the Griffin but I've heard mixed things). I want a rta so I don't have to buy replacement coils and so I can have the chance to rebuild and rewick. Does this sound good? Any suggestions and thoughts would be great.

There are many tanks now-a-days that have premade coils AND have the option to rebuild. The kanger subtank, smok tfv4, joye cubis come to mind. However I think the mvp 20w will only fire down to 1.0 ohm so unless you want to limit things you will likely upgrade your mod as well. I've never found the need for 150w-200w but whatever floats your boat. I just need it to fire subohm coils.

If you liked the Dripbox why not stick with it? You get better flavor from a dripper, it's a semi-cloud machine to start with, and the bottle is the tank? Change the build to suit your tastes, I've got a .8 ohm build on mine now, but I'm at 36mg juice. With the removable deck, it's easy to learn on and tinker with. I've found if you move the coils up towards the top of the posts it really enhances the flavor as you get more air around them. As well as it's reasonably priced.
Just a thought.

Congrats Noob101, welcome to ECF.
Building coils and such is great to be able to do and an even better option price wise, however, it is not easy to do and one needs to know precisely what they are doing or they'll likely become a statistic eventually.

I'd recommend a good plug and play type device first, they can be had for 20-50 bucks. So you'll have something that "just works" first.
THEN if you still feel the need get into rebuildables at your leisure while you're vaping, have at it.

Relying on your, as yet unknown, building skills alone to determine if you'll vape or smoke today may not be the best way for you to "step up your game" It is however entirely up to you. That's part of the beauty of this tech.

Thank you :] So just stick with something simpler is the gist I'm getting xD With the drip box what's a safe range for the ohm to be at?

Don't go below the .2 that comes on it, and you will be fine. That's plenty hot for most people anyway!
If you go higher, keep it under 1 ohm with the stock attomizer, any higher than that it's just like sucking air because of the air flow in it. Believe me, I've tried it!
If you do do your own builds, like I said, build them with long legs so you can get them up high, nearly the top of the grub screws posts, and towards the outside, near the air holes. It takes a little effort vs. the way it's built stock, but helps a lot with the spit back and increases the flavor a lot in my opinion.

I'm probably gonna get the drip box now. I wanted a tank mod cause a friend of mine has one, but they both said the drip box would probably be a better purchase for me since I like tinker.

It's a great place to start for sure! Learn how to build coils, test them and learn. Then you can move on from there.
Then you can decide if you like fiddling with them or not.
