A question:what else?

VG or PG? Isn't VG better for our bodies? It's been almost 2 months since I've smoked an analog and I figured I'd better be more conscious now, of what's in this juice.

I've tried quitting analogs several times before, but this time I had a really good reason: my 8 yr old grandson told me he didn't want me to die...8-o. I asked him why he thought I was going to die and he said that people who smoke, die! What a wake up call!!!

So, what is your opinion on VG? Also, is it really worth it to continue to purchase pre-filled carts or DIY?

Thanks for bearing with a noob's questions and comments.

I've read the studies and I have done the math.

My feeling is that unless you have a PG related allergy, than there really isn't a reason to use VG unless:

1) you are a vapor snob (not sure how else to word it, but you know that some people value vapor production over anything else)
2) you don't mind a real change/reduction in flavor (depending on what your flavor of choice is)

I notice enough of a flavor difference that VG just isn't palatable to me.

Prefilled carts CAN be a good idea, but it really depends on the model.

For a cartomizer model? Pre-filled rock.

For a 510 or 401? Why bother....they only last about 10 puffs anyways and taste horrid. Start fresh with juice you find awesome right away.

I agree. Either way you look at it you're inhaling stuff other than fresh air, which is the 'best' thing for your lungs.
I use both PG and VG, (usually a mix around 70/30) they are both chemical compounds and PG has been more widely tested as its been around longer. I have used pure VG liquids (like eCopure) and the taste is definitely 'softer'.
Some people can be sensitive to either one, but tbh this is quite rare unless you have allergies (or asthma) in general. You will know if you ARE one of those sensitive to it (either VG or PG) as you will get a pronounced reaction like projectile vomiting, bad stomach pains, or hives. Dry mouth is common to both and is not an indicator of sensitivity btw.
All the flavored juices will contain normal flavoring additives, similar to what you find (in some cases exactly the same as) in food flavoring you would use in cakes or puddings.
There are also preservatives and sometimes alcohol in ejuices (the alcohol is in very small amounts but worth mentioning if you are sensitive to it).
A lot of juice makers will list all the ingredients on the bottles, to the best of their knowledge (often they do not know the exact chemical makeup of the flavoring but you can get lists from the flavoring manufacturers, if the company can tell you who they get theirs from, ie capella or Lorann)
Obviously nicotine is added if you have requested nicotine.

Pre-filled carts are convenient but usually limited in flavors.
Buying juice in bottles to refill carts is usually more cost effective, and gives you access to more flavors than MOST ejuice prefilled carts have available.

I hope that was helpful and welcome to ECF :)

Well for me, I am sensitive to PG as it irritates my throat too easily. Therefore I mix my own juices and my latest daily vapes are 35% PG based ejuice, 55% VG and 10% Seedmans commercial tobacco flavor enhancer to help restore some of the lost flavor (I use tobacco and RY4 flavors) and the Seedmans helps to thin out the VG. I end up with about a 10mg nicotine strength juice with reduced flavor, but it is (for me) almost a perfect all-day vape. I can vape it as much as I want and pretty much all of those little "side-effects" like headache, dry/sore throat, and too much throat hit have disappeared.

Everyone is different and we each have to find what really works for us. And I do highly recommend learning to mix your own juices. It can save you a lot of money in the long run and you will eventually learn to adjust each flavor to make your vaping experience the best it can be.

This vapor snob enjoys adding some VG to his PG fluids not only for the vapor but it also gives it a slightly sweeter taste.

Ok so I am a newbie but not a newbie. LOL I have the Njoy pro but I have been coughing so much that I cannot use the PG stuff. I also will not go through the refillin of cartos. I have tried to see if there are any VG Cartos that can be used with the Njoy Npro but not really gettin anywhere. Looking around here and so far I am going with the Vapor King. I have been smoking for 37 years and now have COPD and have to quit. I like vaping but not that coughing stuff.

Just curious, why will you "not go through refilling cartos"?? You know it's costing you about 10 times as much to use them as disposables right?
Example... if you buy a 5 pack of cartos for 10 bucks that's 2 bucks a piece. They each hold about a half mil, so you are paying $4 a mil for the juice8-o. (and you are quite limited on flavors, bases, strengths, etc)
You can buy a 30 mil bottle of juice (of infinte flavors, strengths, etc) for $10. A 30ml bottle will fill 60(ish) cartos. Those same 60 cartos are going to cost you $120 to get prefilled. The average person is going to go through 2-4 cartos a day, (60-120 a month) so that 100-200 bucks a month wasted. Tell you what, send me 60 empty cartos, juice, and 200 bucks every month and I'll fill 'em for you.:p (I'm just joking with you...just trying to make a point...they're pretty simple to refill).

BTW: in looking for the going rate of cartos at V4L, I noticed, they sell VG cartos (if I haven't steered you away from prefilled that is ;))

Edit: and just so I'm not totally OT from the OP... I don't like PG...does all kinds of weird stuff to me..dry, sore throat, night tremors, insomnia, sore teeth, etc, etc. I wouldn't think that I'm allergic, since it's in just about everything food-wise, but it seems like it's different when I vape it. VG all the way for me. More vapor anyway ;)
