Caveat: I'm new to vaping, so I'm not yet at the point where smoking a cheesecake or a stick of bubble gum seems to give me my fix. I enjoy the taste of smoke. Burning, awful, cigarette smoke. I have a feeling this will go away once my body begins to assign its nicotine fix with new flavors, but for the time being, I'm looking for an analog...well, analog.
So, from the smoke shop at VB, I ordered Camtel, Maxboro, and they threw in a Dark Vapure for free. The shop is simple, the e-juices have mixture flexibility, and the order arrived lightning fast. I look forward to doing business with these guys again, soon!
That said: if you are looking for the taste of a cigarette (understandably, it appears most on this board have successfully moved past that), then Vapor Bomb is NOT the place to go.
Camtel - It's hard to describe. Very herbal. Have you ever walked into a head shop? It's that smell you get as you get lost among the tie-die shirts, the Grateful Dead posters, and the smoking paraphernalia. Maybe Patchouli? Anyway, it's a great scent, it's just not my Camels of old.
Maxboro - Same deal, but maybe a little less floral. You're still in the head shop, though. Maybe Nag Champa?
I should note that I've never smelled freshly dried tobacco leaves, so I don't know how close they came. I know that a fresh pack of cigarettes smells like varying degrees of raisins, but that tobacco has come a long, long way before it became a pack of Camels or Marlboros.
Dark Vapure - Again. Nice. Herbal. Not hardy or savory.
I also ordered a little bottle of cloves. Great job, here. Not exactly a pack of Djarums, but it's definitely clove.
Other things I discovered:
The first two I got were 8mg. Big mistake. I've now learned that if you like a throat hit, you MUST order higher than 8mg. The throat hit from tobacco must be due to the nic and the thousands of other caustic chemicals, because Camel Lights are quite low on nicotine, but they aren't as low a TH as these 8mg juices.
The next thing I discovered is that I will only order VG or VG-mix from now on. There is simply an unsatisfying amount of vapor coming from the two juices that I got 100% PG. I thought that PG contributed to TH, so that's why I went that direction.
Oh well. $15 spent on a little experimentation is not a bad thing. I might just get some plain VG Nic juice and cut my other juices with it to increase the TH and the vapor. Or I might just call it a loss and keep shopping. No big deal.
Bottom line: if you want a juice that tastes rather similar to an actual Camel Light cigarette, go to Rocky Mountain Vapor and order their Camel. It's the one that people on this board liken to smoking various feces-related things. Maybe the farther I move from cigarettes, the less I'll need to find something analogous to them. For now, though, you can call me Poo-vaper.
