When I am not vaping I put the covers (condoms) back on the cartos. It just hit me that this may not be necessary. So my question to the group; Should one put the covers back on when the cartos is not in use, or does it really matter?
I always put the condoms on. Some posters here have mentioned that it helps to prevent the carts from drying out early. Since I'm experimenting with a variety of flavors, I put small adhesive 'dots' (stickers) on the top that I label with the flavor in each cart.
Thanks. I thought along the same lines of keeping them from drying out. I have not tried other flavors yet but I shall be placing an order at the end of the month for some supplies. I saw a video where a person used rubber bands to keep track of the flavors. I also will try dripping when I get my new kit. (Part of the order I'll place soon)
I only put the caps on if I'm pre-filling them for later use, or long-term storage. I usually only have one or two going at any particular time; my active one has a drip tip in place of the rubber stopper, and I just keep it topped off. I usally get 7-10 days out of one before I feel the need to toss it, but then most of my juices are "clear" ones, so very little gunk.

How do you know when it's time to replace? I tend to use mine till they taste a little burned. Of course, I am using the Cigotine Kit and I have a feeling that it is not very good. I'll be placing an order for a different kit where I will continue to use cartos but will also try my hand at dripping.
I have a small tackle box for the e-juice bottles and miscellaneous sundries (extra batteries, chargers, etc.). I found that this ammo box fits my 808 carts perfectly:
i tend to keep the condoms on just because it doesn't hurt. i imagine it helps keep air from getting in there. it's especially useful for the 808 pcc, as the carts are too small for the slots and jiggle around while the pcc is closed. i find the condoms keep them snug in their little recessed area.
