laying up some fiberglass for my 2nd dna20 I got side tracked .. mixing epoxy I might as well lay up another size at the same time.
some old batteries and parts in junkbox to try . made a wooden dowel with 1/8 radius . wrapped some paper and plastic around it to easy removal of layup after cure. used 2inch fiber glass spiral wrapped . two layers .the 4000 mah suck , tried imr ...much better.
also wanted to try a switch I never used it is a 5 amp limit switch, should be reliable . for the top of the mod used corean and a small size of the tube glued on with a rubbery cement to seal ..then poored a clear epoxy the shell and cement removes easily .
battery conections made with some copper strips cut with sissors . note that the neg connection dos not go through the spring, for a low loss conection. the +copper is soldered right to the switch and the wire of +510 to other side of switch. very short !
also layed up some glass for battery holder and while doing that some flat stock between 2 layers of plastic , to cut for end pieces.
what I would like to try is put a 1200 mah lipo turnegy round in it if I can find a low voltage shut off board for it . the charger takes care of over charging as allways ill use a pt fuse to .used a 510 to ego convertor to connect to an old ego charger and a rubber band to hold the switch in ....lets try some pictures and then back to the dna 20.
