little birdhouse in your soul
I wanted to take a few quick minutes to sincerely thank everyone on the forum who has helped and additionally would like to thank SI and Imagine.
Today marks one month without a cigarette, not one after 24 years of smoke a PAD. What is more amazing is that I absolutely had no plan or desire to quit. I got into this because my wife bought a pack of the cheap things at a gas station and after taking a quick drag, thought it would be a cool way to smoke in the bars where it isn’t permitted and also help my wife who wanted to quit but found it extremely difficult to do so while I still smoked by not smoking as much at home. I literally ran out of cigarettes one month ago and just decided not to get any more and I have been completely fine with it since………..not even one, no cheating and all on a whim.

I read a post a while back about this forum being a support group and I agree with that statement. Taking up anything new can be difficult and annoying when you don’t know anything about that new thing and I just wanted to tell everyone that I think that it is extremely generous to take time out of your day to try to help someone with a problem, especially when you don’t know that person and you really don’t have to. It makes me want to try to help out others as much as I can as well.

I apologize for the multiple posts on my CE3 issue, I really don’t like it when things don’t work but I really do appreciate everyone’s patience. I thank you all.

I am so pleased to hear you have reached the one month milestone! I too have reached a month without tobacco and it is wonderful to say the least.

I am new to this forum and I too have been helped with support and kindness - I hope to be able to pay it forward since everyone has been so quick to help me.

Congratulations, and thank you for starting this thread!:thumbs::thumbs:

Congratulations, that's awesome, this place is addicting as smoking used to be for me and it has helped me over more than a couple of rough spots. I on the other hand was hell bent on quitting and did it too but the truth is I owe a portion of my success to the folks here and of course SI products. Here's to turning a month into a year and then 10.... :toast:

Sitting down, facing forward.
I started and was failing, miserably, with a ProSmoke. Then I found ECF and got advice to buy a Volt from MrOutlaw. Saying thank you just doesn't seem like enough. With the Volt I stopped tobacco after 50 or so years at up to 2 or 3 PAD. Since I got the Volt, not even one drag, let alone a whole cigarette. There have been time when I've wanted one. Instead, I just browse around here and vape a little, well maybe vape a lot. The help from everyone has made it possible and easier for me to stay away from tobacco. If I can help anyone make that same switch, it's my pleasure and, in a way, an obligation (might not be the right word) to help, everyone here has done that for me so the least any of us can do is try to return that "little" favor.

no more lung crackle and whistling when i lay down to sleep.

Those were my two noticeable improvements too... nice, huh? I was also prone to congestion in the cold/flu season that would take a long time to clear up, but not anymore.

Congrats to all of you for hitting the 1 month or greater milestones!! Should be smooth sailing from here on :)

^^ THIS

Everyone on this forum has been exactly where you are. That's why it's easy to understand and be patient with someone who's new, frustrated, confused etc. We all went through it.

My only frustration on ECF is when I see someone new come in and ask for a simple solution and be told to get a such and such variable volt, and run it at 4.2 volts with a quadruple coil low resistance 1.8 ohm but before you do, remove the wick and coil and replace with kanthal and ss mesh in 237X237, you'll want a good blow torch for this. Also make sure your juice is 61% Vg, 39% PG, get the VG from walgreens, and make sure you have a drip shield, etc. etc. etc.......

Remember this day. Remember the first day you arrived on ECF and were feeling overwhelmed. Do not overload a new person. Remember that they don't know what mah means, the difference between PG and VG, and have no idea what voltage is going to do. What they need is for someone to ask how much, how often, and where they smoke. I'm not going to recommend a 65mm kit with no PCC to someone that's on the road all day. I'm not going to recommend someone that smokes 5-10 cigarettes a day sitting in front of the TV go buy 3 1300Mah batteries to get through the day.

My Zenesis Mini is my baby. I can install a wick and new coil in a minute and blow clouds that look like they might actually rain. It's fabulous. It also costs over $200 and requires someone willing to learn how to work with SS mesh and coil. If someone were generous enough to GIVE me one on my first day vaping..... I wouldn't be here. I'd be sitting on the deck working my way through a pack of cigarettes. I needed simple. I needed my 78mms. Without 78mms and prefilleds, I would have never decided that maybe I could fill a carto, and then maybe I should give a bigger battery a shot and not have to charge so often, and then maybe a clearo might be OK. SI is as simple as it gets, and thank god knows what they're doing to make sure they have products that work well together. My X2s are my little work horses. I have 4 650mahs. (I know, I know.... there's 900 and 1300... but I like them little). My sister is getting married Friday, so I'll have my X2s on me, but plan on using my 78mms with jewel tips through the reception too. They're fabulous for "casual vaping".

Amen Jen. I was lucky that I worked with some basic stick battery coworkers who could point to an online retailer. I never bought from there but it caused me to ask friends questions, I then found ecf on my own. I was also lucky that I have a store next town over that sells another brand of battery do that I could try stuff out. I found SI when I asked a tank/ clearo question in the noob section. Thank god outlaw and a couple of others realized what I was really asking. I wanted a clearo/ Ce3 that worked on a 65mm battery that I could just fill see how much was in there and carry in a jean pocket. Everything is so confusing along with having different names for the same thing. I love the ease of SI.

Yep, it is the ease of SI that got me really started on vaping. The website is not confusing. There aren't a million parts. You can have a bigger batterry and still use your 78mm for driving around or shoving in your back pocket. The clearos and the CE3s are easy to use and work on the big or little batteries. The amount of juice flavors is more than adequate to choose from and the cartos come in sampler packs so you can try 3 sampler packs and choose your flavors from those 15 flavors.

You can buy 5 cartos in one flavor and get the 30 ml bottle in the same flavor and just reuse the cartos. Nice. As a heavy smoker I had to experiment a bit to find my mg sweet spot. 24 in the morning, 18 for most of the day and 12 and 18 in the evening. Nice!

The people here are very encouraging.

I figured out that I have avoided at least 480 cigarettes since I started vaping and cutting down by half was a cinch. Hearing everyone's stories lets me decide how I will work out quitting and the whole process is low stress.

So, thanks from me too everyone.

So what kind of Blow Torch would you recommend? Acetylene or Plasma?:lol::lol:

Sorry Jen, Some days I just can't help it...
