Ok... so I know it's called a drip tip but I didn't expect the juice to be literally dripping out onto my mouth. I most definitely don't understand how to do it properly? I have a GLV2 and bought both atty's and carto's. Today is my first day without an analog (argh!) and I have found that the carto doesn't seem to give off a lot of vapor but has a good throat hit. I also have a Joye510 which I was discretely using today at work. I discovered I like the carto from the Joye 510 on the GLV. But still... I'd like to trying dripping. How do I do it properly???

Don't mind my rambling. It's been a long day. :(

I never drip into the driptip on my cartos. Like Keyzy, I pop it off to wet the filler material directly, so I can see when to stop and to prevent getting liquid into the air hole. I never have been able to direct drip onto atties, so, sorry I can't be more help there. Good luck, n00b! Hang in there. You'll get it together!

You can drip through the drip tip onto an atomizer (just don't drip too much, or you'll get a leak).
With a cartomizer, you need to remove the drip tip, and fill the carto without getting liquid in the center airhole. That's why
you're getting a mouthful of liquid.
I fill my cartos with a syringe.
Been there, done that!

I guess something should be brought into more light here. I hope you guys are not referring to that little white circle donut that normally is on a carto as a drip tip. A drip tip is a seperate accessory that replaces that little donut looking white cap. A drip tip is designed to allow the drips from a bottle to go through it. Usually with normal 510 drip tips you will have to blow slightly at the hole for any juice to drop down into the atty/carto right after dripping. With something like a Ming tip that has a larger hole it is not really needed if your aim is good enough to go right through the center of the tip.
Dripping kind of becomes an art. Once you find the right amount to drip there is nothing really better. A normal 510 you should only need to drip about 3 drops from a standard 5ml bottle. Once you become better at it and know how much the atty can handle and how much juice is left in the atty you can go to 4 drops. In an 801 style atty you can actually drip towards 5 drops but not very often or you will start to leak. 3 to 4 drops is pretty much the best amount.

Thank you for the responses. Skyway - yours is especially helpful. I must have dripped too much into the drip tip and didn't know to blow into it - and thank you for clarifying that the little donut thingy is not the drip tip. The drip tip looks like a carto without any filler (right?). I still get confused about all the parts but continue to learn on this (awesome) site.

I'm on day #2 without smoking and doing "ok". I really think this could work for me! But I think I'll stick to the carto's for now. I'll figure out the whole dripping thing when I'm not so desperate to get nicotine into my system...
