i have spoken to a live person who assured me it would be delivered today outside Nashville. last night it was back in N.C.!
called and spoke with a very nice lady who referred the problem to Consumer affairs division of usps...
this would almost be hilarious if i didn't want my mod as badly as i do ..

the moral of the story....take the time to double check all info before hitting the checkout button. tune in next week for the next installment of "Where's My Mod" when a high end mechancal mod visits New Zealand.

That is a bummer. I almost made that mistake on one of my last big purchases... I put a 6 at the end of my zip instead do a 5 but by pure accident I noticed the error a millisecond before hitting the finish payment button. I was able to fix my error...thank God.

Hopefully you can get it all sorted out and have your new toy soon. Good luck.

the latest episode of "wheres my Mod".... the story continues..... i think it would make a great sequel to "Groundhog Day". it made it's 3rd trip to N.C..... destination.. 30 miles SE of Nashville, 2 day Priority Mail.. after talking to 2 different people and the shipper filling out online forms and a paper copy turned in at his local post office.

I work for the USPS.
Trust me, the scanners are picking it up as the wrong zip causing it to go in the wrong direction. See that small barcode above/below the address on most of your mail? The wrong zip code is encoded into that..
The computer is saying to send it to one zip code, and the Mail handler/Clerk is just following the computer (If it's actually hand sorted, if done by machine.. well zero human interaction to catch it)
You can correct the zip on the package, but if a Clerk does not mark out the barcode on the printed label.. it will continue to go round and round. And get this.. we are not supposed to mark out that barcode. Stupid rule.

Most clerks will mark it out.. some are lazy and just toss it back in the miss sent parcels, which a barcode scanner will send it right back to the wrong station/area.
It *NEEDS* to have someone handle the package themselves. Someone should see the trip its taking and fix it.

But YES always make sure the zip code is correct. Whole address should also be double checked, but the Zip is a biggie. Anymore the Processing and Distribution plants are becoming increasingly automated, actual human interaction with letters and packages are becoming less and less until the carrier gets it. A wrong Zip code can get the item a LONG way before it's noticed. As you can see.

Supervisors at either/both location should get their hands on that package.. (There is NO excuse beyond laziness) and fix it.
They know the issue, they know the path.. Yeah there are a lot of packages.. but it's not hard to find it. (and if they tell you it is.. BS, they just want to pass the issue off on someone else)

Hope you get the package *soon* lol.

i e-mailed usps customer service last night. this is my last avenue of contact for both me and the shipper. we have both filled out forms and it has been brought to consumer affairs by a postal employee over a week ago... auto fill on personal info sure is handy...until something isn't right.
