AA boxmod doesnt like 14500 sized batt's?

So the boxmod i made wont work when i put a 14500 sized batt in it. Its works great with a 10440 sized which is kinda weird. Would it be because the 14500 isnt rechargeable? Please help me out here. I'm so lost lol

Hey Shag...

Both are rechargable... and they are different sizes.. You sure you got the #s right?
10440 is AAA size while the 14500 is AA size


Hmmm, your AA box which when modded will only hold one 14500... Heres a scenario, your + positive post isnt making good contact. On the batter connector for it (+), where it touches, try to solder some extra solder in the dimple so it sticks out a micro hair than what it is! Then put your battery back in and give her a go.... Also, make sure your 14500 is charged... LOL

the 14500 sized batt isnt a 14500. Its just a normal store bought aa sized 3.6v li-ion batt non-rechargeable. Thats the one that isnt working. The mod works fine with the 10440 so i know its not the unit.

the spring is probably long enough to push the 10440 up into the + side to make a decent connection... But with a 14500 sized, its a tight fit as it is, but still may not be making the contact... So soldering a small mound of solder on the + side may do the trick... Dont solder the battery tho

I just pulled mine out and took an awl and hammer to it. One slight hit and the pos. end connects with the highdrains that were to short.

I've noticed on some that the + button size are diff diameters.
I had one that didnt work and the plastic slot opening in the box was just smaller in width than the button diameter. I popped out the metal connector and shaved the boxes slot wider and now they all work fine.
