Yes the AAA battery wont fit inside the 801 tube but it is very close to the same diameter so if you chop the tube and take a piece out the size of the battery then you could join it back together... only problem is the wires that connect the far-end terminal and the LED light tip, they normally snake around the battery inside an 801 tube.
Well I have not had my equipment long enough to kill an atomizer but 3 weeks so far of heavy use for my 801 (using 3 batteries per day!!) and it seems like new. I have the feeling that the atomizers require a constant supply of liquid in order to keep them cool so they don't burn out, even brief use of the atomizer when dry would shorten its life dramatically... Do agree with this?
Agreed the hardware seems to be fairly fragile but having said that it does perform well while it lasts. I wonder if there was a heavy duty atomizer that lasted say 6 months, how much would it cost? Would this be any better that spending $5.50 on the current ones every month, at least then you get a fresh one. I am thinking of these things as semi-disposable now.
My new 801 batteries from Heaven Gifts are much improved. Better output right 'till they need charging, faster charging and they use mechanical switches which are nearly as responsive as the electronic ones which were far too fragile.
Maybe the atomizers need better heat control, if they didn't overheat then they should last longer. No burnout and no crud build up if they didn't get too hot.
The ideal atomizer would combine less heat, certainly not enough to burn anything, and ultrasonics to aid atomization. I have seen little water feature things in junk shops which create visible mist from water with no heat at all. Apparently Ruyan hold a patent for this but have yet to use it.
