AAhh Going through atomizers

My husband just got a 901. My mother and I both vape these. He has only had it for 5 days and has burned through his atomizer already! His battery life is also much shorter. I was worried about this as he has a real heavy draw to begin with. He really enjoys his PV and is discouraged. Is there a better model for someone like him. Our house is "new" to e-cig's. We don't know much except that we love them.

Does he have multiple e-cigarettes to vape? When I first started vaping I would carry just one with me and try to smoke it 'just like a real cigarette', only to discover that frequent dragging will quickly overheat the atomizer (as one person stated, if you can feel the heat of the atomizer on the outer casing, you know it is hot as heck inside).

Hence, like so many others, I now keep 4 or more with me and rotate them.

I would get a 510 starter kit, they come with 2 atomizers & 2 batteries. I get mine for around 20 bucks. They usually last 30-60 days with heavy vaping. Also don't "drip" the atomizer, don't clean it, don't overfill the cartridge, don't let cartridge become too dry. If you absolutely must clean it out in a liquid solution use 90% + rubbing alcohol & then let dry.. Which should only be used if you have a bad taste etc. Don't ever clean the atomizer unless it has a problem to begin with.. The heating elements are very tiny coils and get damaged very easy & naturally wear out over time. Each model has a different life depending on how it's used & treated.

Also don't "drip" the atomizer

Why do you say that?
I drip with my 510 atty exclusively now and have had 0 problems with them.
When I used carts I would always get fibers stuck in them and that nasty burnt poly taste.
When I used carts they would always leak. Dripping, no leaks.
I fried 2 attys when I was using carts. Dripping, zero.

I'm with you Pyrate...I only use carts (PTB, not poly-fil) w/my 510 now if I have some heavy driving to do (a bit tricky to drip while driving). Vapor, throat-hit, and flavor are much more consistent with dripping as well. IMO

To the OP - I would recommend hubby make the switch to the 510; it sounds to me like he's a pretty heavy puffer, and that makes me think the 510 would serve him better - dripping or carting.

It could be a case where he's just not topping off often enough. Any atty run too dry will burn out quickly. The attys get cooling from the liquids. I burned out many 510 attys running them too dry. I switched my mods over to 801's which have a much larger reservoir so I don't need to top off as often.

He has two 901's and I borrowed mine out to him today so just in case anything happens at work he has a spare. It just stopped working. I'm not sure if it is a coil or what. I guess I'll look in to the 510. Thanx so much guys!!!!
Whenever I hear that a fairly new atomizer stopped working my first thought is that it is flooded.
