I'm a week into using my blu kit, its very convenient since it charges on the go and such.... I smoked about half a pack of analogs a day before and blu has helped cut down a lot. My issue like everyone else, is the vapor consistency and its going to drive me crazy. I know I can buy the eliquid but I dont have time or the patience for that stuff. Has anyone found a fix for this OTHER than buying new attys, carts or eliquid? I have removed the foil, tapped the cig, shook it, twisted the cart around ect... I know there must be a way to fix this without buying any new parts. Thanks in advanced!
I use Volcano and Sidesho, which are essentially the same as the Blu.
One thing I found out after a week or so:
don't twist the cart! The Volcano instructional video even tells you to do this to open the foil on prefilled carts, but grating against the foil was ripping the wick on my atty to shreds. My first atomizer was destroyed in 4 days. (Volcano was really cool about that and replaced it for me, against their own policy, just out of compassion.) I've had much saner atty life and more consistent vapor since I stopped wrecking the atty wicks.
Blowing out or cleaning your atomizer will do wonders to restore vapor and flavour, even after just 3 or 4 days if you vape heavily, or vape certain flavors - I suspect most tobacco flavors are somewhat atty-clogging. Swapping out for a fresh battery as soon as vapor drops off, instead of waiting until the LED flashes, can help keep your atomizers cleaner. Likewise, swapping out for a fresh cart as soon as the flavor drops off, instead of trying to use up the last few drops, keeps you from drying out the atomizer and may prolong its life and performance. (Hearsay on my part.) There are stickies about cleaning atomizers, from blowing through one end to get extra liquid out through hot water rinses to alcohol soaks and using an ultrasonic jewelry bath (mine's on order...)
I don't have any experience with quirks specific to Blu, but I can wholeheartedly recommend
Volcano and
Sidesho - there's
a thread about Blu/Volcano interchangability that claims the Volcanos produce better vapor and can be used with your Blu kit. (I defer to anyone with actual experience at that, though.) I don't know if Blu and Sidesho are intercompatible, but Volcano and Sidesho work best-of-both-worlds together: the Sidesho batteries last longer, and the Volcano attys are half the price. Sidesho has a quirky atty (low bridge) so only Sidesho carts and atomizers work together. But if you have the money to burn, I'd say get all your replacements from the Sidesho line, since their carts hold more and their attys seem less fragile. Both companies' prefill carts taste good (though if you refuse to use liquid you're missing out on a whole world of wondrous flavors!) and both companies have great customer service and ship quickly.
And don't let the haters get you down.

I love my Volcano and my Sidesho. When I want a cigarette, when I would normally have a cigarette, when I want to hang with the other smokers, those are what I reach for. They live in the watch pocket of my jeans, so I don't have to reach far. No, they're not the best choice for a 3-hour vape-and-type, or for puffing away in the bubble bath or watching late-night TV. But there's something that's easy for vapers to forget - most of us, at some point, saw PVs as a funny kind of cigarette, and the similarity to cigarettes was comforting. A 510 can be very reminiscent of a cigarette, especially compared to something like a Screwdriver or a Chuck, or the gorgeous gorgeous GGTS I will someday own - but when your hand is still trained to
a cigarette and vaping is still a replacement for
smoking cigarettes, there's nothing wrong with something that differs as little as possible from a king- or 100-size tobacco stick. Soon enough, you'll probably find that vaping is an art in itself, a totally different hobby with way more possibilities than smoking had. Maybe you'll be all over that and order something that looks like you're smoking the tail of a scorpion and start mixing your own liquids then. But nothing says you have to. Find what works for you, even if it's 3 different things for 3 different purposes, and let that be what matters.
