This Friday I'll be getting a P+ 18500 as both my first mechanical mod and first high-end mod.

I've looked through tons and tons of stuff out there, and I can't find any PV I like more than this, even some of the mods with theoretically better connectivity - invariably those are either too gaudy for my tastes, or simply have a design that doesn't appeal to me. The Zippo-style warranty on P+ seals the deal, since it means that if anything does happen, I'm covered.

I love the elegant simplicity of a metal tube with a slight elevation change in the middle and a tapered bottom. My only issue is that the one I'm getting has an angled top cap, but hey, I can buy a flat cap in the future if I need it!

I'm still looking for the best deal on 18500s and a charger, but I'll probably just order from RTDvapor.

Is there anything I need to be aware of otherwise? I've heard a few (very few) complaints about a bit of battery rattle, but since they include extra o-rings for the battery tube I can't imagine that being an issue.

Anyway, I hope to be vaping on one of these finely crafted beauties soon.

You made a wise choice. About the only thing I ever see regarding the PrecisePlus that some people have issues with is the bottom button design. Some people find it a physical challenge or simply don't like it. Personally I think it's the most comfortable placement, and Super-T's implementation of it is the best of all. Do you have any experience with a bottom firing button? It can be a little awkward until you wrap your head around it but once you do it's super natural.

You're going to love it. Super-T has pretty cheap batteries too, you know.

Sorry for going all OP on your thread, but it fit and I figured you'd appreciate another newcomer's exp. to making the same decision. So here goes:

When I first started thinking of getting a mod to upgrade from ego's I did a ton of research. A Super-T was what I wanted most because of the superior metals at the contact points and the only mod I saw with a lifetime refinish warranty, but at the time was very much out of my pricerange. I got a Bolt and modded the switch, it worked great with the kick so I was happy for a while. Then Christmas came and I knew I'd get some cash so got a vamo to try vv. The vamo is great for a back-up device, but I prefer the reliability of a mechanical so I ordered an EA mod and sold the bolt. I chose the EA cause I wanted something that could kick 18350's or 18650's and that fit the bill. I had major issues with the EA's adjustable center post with a kick and certain atties.

I was looking through some co-op threads and someone posted the Holocron labs re-setable vape-safe fuse was on sale at MVS so I figured, hey if I can't use the EA with my kick I should at least pick up one of these, so I ordered one. Literally about 2 hours later I was setting up my Kayfun clone to use on the EA and tried firing up a new coil and nothing happened. I took it apart and this little piece of metal fell out the base. "Where's the spring?" I asked myself and picked up the metal piece and realized that WAS the spring. The center pin on the EA pushed too far on the Kayfun clone's center pin and shorted out, basically turning the atty spring into a hotspring. The EA mod IMMEDIATLY went into the classifieds, and the day I sold it, guess what arrived in the mail? My vape-safe fuse!

Well I have since sold some other gear that I just never got rid of, and good thing I didn't because after all was said and done, I checked my paypal balance and realized I had enough to get the one thing that had gotten my attention so strongly since the first time I saw it. I'll be putting my order in for the Precise ELA come wednesday, and I couldn't be more excited! The only bad part about it is that I'm afraid it just may ruin me for other mech mods in the future! That's a chance I'm willing to take.

I've never used a bottom button mod, but I can't see how it'd be too difficult to get used to. Not as natural as a clench button perhaps, but neither is crooking your thumb and pressing.

Like Snork said SuperT's battery prices are the same as RTDvapor.... the best in town...
I would suggest the PILA charger....

Ah, I hadn't noticed the batteries on their site! I can pick up my cap, batteries, and charger all in one place. Thanks!

That's a great story. I can tell you really love this mod already, and I know how you feel. It'll be tough to wait until I receive mine...

I think it's so cool you both got the 18500. It's an awesome size and the AW 18490 is an awesome battery. You guys inspired me to whip out both of my 18500s last night, I've been a two-handed vaper today.

Truth be told it wasn't my first choice, but after thinking about it, it will be more convenient to carry around an 18500 than an 18650, and they deliver the same power. Perhaps a smaller amp limit, but I'm not planning to run a dual coil 0.6ohm on this.

Good morning and welcome Symmetry! The PrecisePlus is a quality, easy to use unit and i think it will bring you years of trouble free service. As far as batteries rattling, there should be no rattling, as both the switch and battery are completely adjustable. Any problems someone may have had would have been due to them not having the proper washers/orings (they come with what you need and a spare oring/waher kit is also available) or failing to take the two minutes to set it up correctly. Once set up, you don't have to touch it again. If you have any further questions, we are here for you!

That's what I thought - after watching some reviews, nobody had battery rattle, and they all mentioned that it came with extra o-rings for the battery tube. That'd more or less make it impossible to make your battery rattle.

That is a bliSS Titanium riding majestically atop my P+

I like it. I'll probably end up overpaying for one in the classifieds...though the Cobra looks just a little bit better on there IMO.
