Need some advice on what and how to order. I see a lot of people talking about having their drip will milled, and something about noalax? And what about extra tubes and bottles and stuff? what else can be done to my Reo before it's sent out, and what other modifications can be made? What do I need for my first Reo so I can do anything and use anything with it? I'm planning on getting the Reo Mini 2.1 because I like smaller devices. I like to carry them in my pockets. What's the best atty too?

I also need help ordering batteries. I want the 18490 AW IMR batts with the 16.5 AMP limit, and I prefer to order within the US!

Annnnd, do you think Rob will allow a delivery without a signature? I am in the Navy and I can't be home when the mail gets there unless it's a Saturday..

Unless Rob is doing the sub ohm kit on the mini, 16 amp batteries ate a bit overkill. The Reos spring is designed to collapse at 10 amp.

Rob did make the anouncement that he will be modding the Igo S for bottom feed, not sure if that's a go yet. The RM2 is definitely one of the best attys you can get for your 2.1 or Grand.

As for delivery, have it shipped to a friend or neighbor that can sign and give to you when you get home :thumb:

What do you mean the spring collapses at 10 amps?

The safety feature of a mechanical Reo is a 'hotspring' which will collapse and drop the battery away from the firing pin. And that is why a 0.4Ω coil is likely a limiting factor - because (newly charged battery) 4.2v / 0.4Ω = 10.5 Amps.
You have to make sure your battery and spring can handle that current.

It's simple enough to put a new spring in and i'd bet that the most likely cause of collapsed springs is atomiser shorts caused by not checking coils properly before firing them.

For your first REO I would suggest you go with the Grand. There really is not that much difference in size from the Mini 2.0.

The Grand is not much bigger than a pack of cigs.

With the larger 6ml bottle and bigger battery it will give you more hours of vaping. Especially if you plan on using the RM2 or other RBA. Coils under 1.5 will deplete a battery sooner and also use lots more juice.

Recommended battery for the Grand is the AW IMR 18650 3.7v, 1600 mAh.

You can get the drip well of the Grand milled down to accept any RBA. Just order by sending a PM to Robert since it is custom.

Some have modded their Grands with brass contact and a spring mod. This is to cut voltage drop. There are threads here that show what all have been done. Robert is working on new contacts and springs that address this. They will be on the new REO's after they are done. You will also be able to purchase them and install.

Extra bottles are nice. You get one in the REO and a extra when you order.
Springs are nice to have in case of a short.
Delrin or brass button covers are great for comfort.
Tubes should last a long time, nice to have a extra.

If you get the RM2 a couple extra screws, and o-rings would be good to have.

Shoot redeyedancer - Robert a PM about shipping.

I think you're right about the size, and I already have the AW IMR 18650 1600 MAH batteries to go with it. And I appreciate you taking your time to give me all of that information! Thankyou! What about noalax?

The mechanicals come with a small baggie of Noalox. You can get more later. It goes on the contact point or on the top of the battery.

I would suggest getting it milled as that is more future compatible. As a consequence, for looks, you need to order your RM2 UN-MILLED.

In summery;
Reo Grand (milled)
RM2 (un-milled)
extra fuse spring
button if you fancy one

Also, if you are new to rebuildables, make sure you have proper supplies for that. (kanthal, wick, small screwdriver, tweezers, ohm meter) Throwing this suggestion in the thread just incase, which if that is the case, youtube is your friend.

That's it!

As far as delivery; PM me and I'll give you my address.:p

Hah I will do that. So a milled grand and un milled rm2 will look good? I'm going to search Google to see what it will look like

The milled RM2 means that the bottom of the base of the RM2 has been milled so it will fit into drip wells or catch cups. This material removal will make a space if you go with a milled drip well on the Grand.

Look here for lots of REO pics:

Here's a post from custom-classic who owns one. I'm waiting for the sub-ohm kit before ordering another metal Reo, but I wouldn't have it any other way than milled.

Reo Grand, milled catch cup, polished brass unmilled Rm2, polished brass button cover.

That's a classy looking Reo he's got there. That's a milled copper vein, brass un-milled RM2, with a Brass button cover. Not sure where the drip tip came from but it's a perfect match. What a beauty...
