The first one I bought had the battery and skinny wire, I actually paid quite a bit for it at the time. It only worked once in awhile, batteries worked better.:p(I will be modding this one in the future) Well I just recieved my Puresmoker 510 PTa couple days ago and I'm in love!:hubba: No problems what so ever so far. I'm careful with my attys because this is a juice sucker and you can blow your atty pretty easy so I've read.:D:)

I have tried the battery lined one, It hits exactly the same as your battery powered ecig. I am trying to mod it, I figured I would just cut the wire and eliminate the battery.
I have ordered one from puresmoker, but have not received it yet.
IT been like 20 days now, it finally got shipped though.
I obviously picked the wrong time to order one, cuz now there finally in stock.
BUt, from what I heard they work really well.
The first mentioned ones, are half the price of the puresmoker though. around 13 bucks. I think.

I just got my in-line battery 510 PT from TECC today and it is great. So far it hits a little better than the 510 batt and for $15.99 I cant complain.:D

It is the only PT I have tried but it hits as strong as a direct usb cable to the atty(I don't suggest anyone to try this).

Why? That's what the PS PT does and it's friggin' awesome. It runs at the USB standard 5v, and there's NO WAY an inline battery PT hits like it does.

Maybe someone can answer this question I've had since I got my first PT. What is the purpose of the battery? Wouldn't a direct USB work just as well and be more substantial than the skinny little wires in the PT?

Thanks,
Lynn

The battery acts as a sort of resistor (is that the right word?), like a bottleneck, so rather than getting the full 5v that USB runs at, you only get the 3.7v that the battery puts out. This must be the voltage that the Chinese manufacturers consider ideal. Yes, a direct USB line does work better.

+1 for the PureSmoker PT. This thing kicks lke a mule and is consistent. I have 2 China PT's (one from eastmall and one from TW) It is laying in my drawer, probably forever. I waited almost a month for my PS PT, but it was worth the wait. If all e-cigs kicked like this on batts, there would not be any smokers in the world.... they would all convert to e-cigs.

My 510 atty gets hot as it is, wouldn't a straight 5v current make it hotter and possibly dangerous?

It's more how fast it heats than how hot it gets. It's not dangerous at all. Lots of people use them and a lot of people even use 6v mods. A few even go higher. The coil isn't strong enough to get dangerous, unless maybe you put something dry and flammable in there.
