Abused battery?

I've been using this Sony vtc4 battery for about 2 weeks and I was wondering if it looks abused. I'm buying a multimeter to check it tomorrow. I tried rubbing the marks off with rubbing alcohol but it did no good

I bought a new one and its starting to make the Rings again any idea why

My guess is your mod's contact points against the battery ends are causing the marks.

Probably nothing to be concerned about as long as the battery doesn't get dented or pitted physically.

I have the same thing happening in my Reo Grand with VTC3's and 4's, but on the positive end where the switch contact is. Mine is pitting from spark erosion running 0.4 ohms attys. Wondering what mod you have these batteries in and if it's a mechanical mod what resistance you're running? Also, I suspect your switch contact is on the negative end, correct?

My battery's performance has not been affected in any way. I suspect that will not change in the future or it would have happened to other people and we would know about this process. But you never know
