I love little box mods. They fit perfect in my hands. They have on/off switches many have USB ports for no fuss charging while you are the the computer or driving.

I have 2 Bartlebys... and I love them. For $55, they are a great deal for me.

Ace of Vapes has something almost as good as a Bart... for $25.00 less. It includes one 900mah 14500 batt and a USB charging chord.

I got mine a few days ago... and I am loving it... it's just like my bart... except the materials seem a bit less quality... but nonetheless... a quality little box mod.

I think this would be a great little mod for anyone at this price... It's the first thing I ever bought from AOV... they see a lot of different vaping goodies...

3 days from order to door. Professionally packaged.

Here's the link....

Thanks for the review lasttango!
I've been looking for a inexpensive but decently built box mod so I can start trying out LR attys and cartos and this looks like just the thing. Half the price of the Bart and without the (IMHO) annoying color changing indicator LED on the MadVapes AA boxes. I'd definitely like to pick up one of these HotBox mods, it's just a shame that they're all out of stock at the moment.
I did send Ace of Vapes an email about it though so hopefully I'll hear back from them regarding an ETA on restocking in the not too distant future :)

Over the edge...
OK, this is my first mod so this won't be an in depth review. But I can tell you what I like about it (and what I don't like about it). I've been using Riva 510s since last December.

Pros: Received it in 3 days - Utah to Virginia.
It accepts my Riva 510 attys.
Nice size. Fits in my hand well. Great for stealth vaping.
Bulletproof button.
Fairly cheap rechargeable 3.6 volt 900 mAh battery
Great battery life.
Clear case lets me see exactly how it's made.
USB charger. (This is also a con for me.)
Enough power to drive a LR atty.

Cons: If I drop this on the concrete sidewalk or garage floor, it's gonna break.
The charging light glows red all the time. When it's on the charger and fully charged, it turns green. As soon as I unplug it, it turns red again. Very confusing.
The on/off safety switch is a nice feature but it's very very cheap.
I would prefer a charger that would work with USB and a wall wort.
Would have been nice to have a lanyard option.

With that said, do I like it? Oh yeah. Is it worth 30 bucks? Darn right. I would like to see an option to order it with a LR atty and drip tip for an extra 10 bucks or so. I may order another one when they're available again. I'm on the road a lot so I need one on the charger when I'm out.

I also have one of the Hotbox mods, for 3 months and it is still working great no problems. All the 510 atty's work on it except the Ego-t tank system but If you buy a battery extension it will work. Also you can buy a wall charger locally that excepts a USB cable and use it to charge your HotBox if you don't want to use it on your computer. Its still a very good price but last I checked it was out of stock. They are very backed up with orders. What I like about the HB is that you have everything in one mod. It came with a battery and charging cable and since it has a built in charger their is nothing else you need except atty's or carto's and juice. I have looked at some other mods that are somewhat like it and seems like a good deal until you see on top of the price of the mod, you will need to buy a battery and a charger for it to work. If the USB cable is plugged into your computer you can us the HB like a passthru while its charging. Well I guess you can see I do like it. Aceofvapes is a good company to deal with.

I use it as a passthrough while the battery is charging, it charges while u use it.

Wouldn't that make the battery die quickly? I mean if it is constantly being charged? Please forgive my electricity ignorance. Seems like that defeats the purpose of using a passthrough. I don't understand.

It does not run the battery down while you are using it, because it is charging the whole time while you are using it as a passthrough. Now maybe you mean that the battery itself, will run out of charge cycles sooner, than if you just charged and used it until it needed charging again? I have had mine for 6 months and its plugged into my computer all the time, and it is still on the first battery it came with. The nice thing With the Hotbox is, you use it as a passthrough any time you want to and if needed just unplug it and take it with you. It will take longer to fully charge it while you are using it as a passthrough than if you let it set and charge. Hope this helps, if not ask away.

It's probably a lithium ion battery. You can charge it any way you want - partial charge, full charge - it doesn't matter.

OK, thanks - I think I understand now. I have an eGo passthrough/battery and it seems to work like that. Except maybe you can replace the battery instead of the whole box mod? I believe the eGo passthrough/battery will keep working as a passthrough even when the battery dies. I'd like to see a video showing and explaining how this works and how easy or difficult it is to change the battery. If you can change the battery, that would be nice. I think I'm going to wait for something like this that also is variable voltage. I saw they just came out with a VV eGo passthrough. A VV box mod that can also be used as a passthrough would be even better if it is priced lower and the button lasts.

If you are asking about the Hotbox, its very easy to change the battery. You just press down on the cover, and the bottom of the Hotbox slides right off, then take a battery out and put a new one in, that simple. I am not sure because I have never owned one (eGo passthrough) but I don't think you could us it as a passthrough if the battery died. With the Hotbox if the battery died you could replace the battery much, much cheaper than it would cost you to buy a new eGo passthrough battery.
