Adapter question.

Sigh, the inner threads on my ego-t are stripped, I bought an adapter for an 808d tank that will be useless now. Where can I find an adapter that will connect my 808d tank to the OUTER thread on the battery? Is it possible to use two adapters? I imagine it's too many steps for it to go through for it to work, so I'm looking for 501/ego to 808d? I searched, but can't find that exact configuration, am I searching correctly? I keep finding 808d to 510... Any links?
Can I use plumbers tape on the adapter if it doesn't touch anything but the threads? I already bought the adapter and my ce-4 doesn't connect now, but connects fine to my dead ego, so it hasn't even come, but it shipped, so I can't cancel.

Don't keep adding more adapters that add more failure points.

Replace defective disposable batteries as needed for safety sake and use adapters only as necessary.

Not to hate on your CE-4 but maybe it's time for a upgrade all around? Or just trash/replace the Ego-T and CE-4, fasttech has a combo for 8.44$. I'm not sure If you can find a adapter shipped for that price.

It's great if you have a 510/Ego battery with damage threads or if you'd like to convert an 808/901 threaded Ego battery to a 510/Ego.

if you prefer to stick with the ego style, would probably suggest a new battery, just to be on the safe side - some very reasonable options are available

I have never seen an ego to 808 adapter. 510/ego to 808 (uses the 510 thread) or 510 to 808 (uses the 510 thread) can be found...but I've never seen one that only uses the outer ego threading.

I forget people don't know me and my dry humor/sarcasm. When I say "I imagine" it means like clearly. "I imagine for a 3 hour drive you want your son in a diaper so we don't flood the Jetta."
The point is moot, the ego failed, the casing came off in my purse (which it did since day one, but since it was in my purse and not my hand the wiring detached on one side, and I don't have a soldering iron precise enough to reattach it, and it isn't worth it to buy one for a $10 ego.
