Add a link to a thread

Ok, stupid question time...

How do I add a link to a previous post? I don't want to post the same thing twice, and would like to point to a post I had made in a different group. Tried to search for an answer but couldn't find one. I would think it must be easy to do.

Right click on the post # then copy and paste it in, I've never done it before I saw your question, but it seems to work.

There is a icon on the post box. it has a pic of the world with a piece of chain (Link). Click on that and Go to that other post copy the url then paste it into the box that appears on the screen.

You should also probably reference what the actual post number is in the post that you are putting the link because I don't think it always works the way it is supposed to, if the person clicking on the link has their 'posts per page' set at anything but the default. I could be wrong but it seems like this happens to me a lot. It could be user error, I dunno.
