I usually like a pretty good throat hit , which is why I vape juices between 18 to 24mg nic. I recently received a juice that I have been trying to find for a while but is only 12mg nic. I thought it would be sufficient but is lacking the throat hit I prefer. My question is would it be as simple as just bringing this juice to a local store and have them add some extra nic? I don't know anything about diy and don't want to ruin the juice. Thanks

You may want to change your pg/vg. Ordering a juice with for example 75% PG, opposed to 60% or 40%, will give you more of a throat hit. Just keep in mind, you will not get as much vapor out of it. Like you said, taking it to your local store, they may be able to help you out. Look around on other websites as well to see if they have the juice with interchangeable nicotine levels.

on my regular juices that I purchase I vape anywhere from 50/50 pg vg to 20/80 and as long as I get 18 to 20 mg nic, it's fine. It's just this one juice that I recently received which is only 12mg and because I wanted this juice so bad, I figured I try it knowingly it was going to be weak in the throat hit but didn't realize it was going to be that weak. Just wondering, like I said if adding more nic at this point to make it 24mg, would be the same as when they initially made it? Or by now adding additional nic changes the flavor?

It can be made to be 24mg :), but you will lose flavor :(.

Most of the time nicotine is flavorless. If your bottle is a 15 ml size they would have to add 1.8 ml of 100 mg nic to bring it up to 24 mg if my math is correct so thats %12 flavorless liquid added which will slightly weaken your juice flavor.
Thanks and that's kind of what I was thinking. I couldnt find this castle long reserve any higher then 12 but if it was offered, let say at 24mg, then do you think they increase flavorings to compensate? bottle is 30ml so maybe increasing to 18 mg wouldn't be that noticeable. I have tried tweaking my coil heights and wattage, but it's still to weak on throat hit for me.

Good morning!

If you are talking about a Five Pawns juice... I would suggest working with a smaller amount before changing your whole bottle, unless you don't mind waiting to find more / buying another bottle if you make this bottle un-vapeable.

Sadly, adding anything besides more of the same juice is going to alter the flavor, but I suppose a weaker flavor is better than a juice you don't want to vape.

I would suggest adding a premium spirit to a small amount of the juice to increase the throat hit. Perhaps a spirit that you have sipped while vaping, maybe a Scotch or Irish whiskey. This should up your throat hit (if that's what you are really looking for versus nicotine) and it would stick to the spirit of the juice flavor, but it will effect the overall flavor.

Either way, I would like to hear your results for whatever you try :)

Side Note: After seeing how Five Pawns let's their juice sit in those cute little barrels, I have wondered if it really imparts any additional flavor... also wondered if they are using reclaimed wood from whiskey barrels etc. or just starting with fresh wood and making the barrels like the whiskey/liquor companies do.

If they offered it at 24 mg then the nicotine level was determined when the juice was initially mixed and wouldnt weaken the flavor any. It was part of the base PG or VG. Thats what that page I linked figures out for people who mixes juices. Tells you how much nicotine base to PG &VG plus flavors to achieve a certain nicotine level. It even takes into consideration the pg used for flavors in the mix.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I could try what you said with just a little spirit, I like that idea. The barrels do add a smoother taste because they make the same juice that's not done in the barrels and it isn't quite as good but I really can't taste the oak itself
