While I was quitting analogs I started to smoke my hookah more often.

A hookah is pretty much an ancient version (unhealthier) of an electronic cigarette.

The highest point of the hookah is a bowl in which you pack your shisha and then you put a piece of tin foil or a hookah bowl screen over it and poke maybe 6-10 small holes (if you used tin foil) in it. Then you take a hookah coal, (don't use grill charcoal, it doesn't work, I've tried it.) Light the coal and make sure it is 85% or more red hot and place it on the foil.

The lowest point of the hookah is the base which is filled with water about 3cm above the end of the downstem ( the smoke travels downward and then out the downstem (through the water) half way back up then out of the hose adapter through the hose and into your lungs.

Anyways. I know it sounds weird but since the tobacco isn't burning you don't get all the other harmful chemicals in normal tobacco cigarettes but you're still smoking tobacco. The tobacco is actually being vaporized

Hookahs have been around for centuries and they're... not very portable. I just wanted to let everyone know that if you want to smoke tobacco but don't want to back to analogs Hookah is a healthier alternative to analogs, but once again, not as healthy as an electronic cigarette.

Anyways, if anyone is actually interested just PM me for more info or something.

Broken, hookahs aren't meant for that haha. It would actually be pointless as it would burn it far too quickly. Mixing it doesn't work well either, haha.

I've had this hookah for about 7 months it's a Khalil Mamoon, handblown and handwelded in Egypt. :p

The way the tobacco is baked is slightly healthier than normal cigarettes because the tobacco itself isn't really being burned, the molasses and flavoring are being burned. Some of the tobacco is being burned, I'll admit, but it's not as bad as a cigarette.

Not saying it's healthy, but when you want to smoke tobacco you have to go through all the work just to smoke it instead of just vaping and if you replace your hookah with cigs, you'll be able to enjoy huge plumes of smoke/vapor and all sorts of crazy flavors I guess it could make the switch easier to some it might, some it might not, just putting it out there. :p

I always wonder how those things worked, love to try one. So is a Ploom like a small hookah?

It doesn't matter if the hookah is handblown glass, home-ade glass or mass-produced. As long as there are no air-leaks and it is perfectly air tight ALL hookahs should produce HUGE clouds of smoke.

Just to give you an indea the amount of smoke you actually breathe out : Biggest Hookah Toke Ever...PERIOD! - YouTube

Those people sound like they just bought their hookah that night, haha. Look how much smoke their getting. By the color of the hose and the shape of the hookah. If wal-mart sold hookahs, that would be a wal-mart hookah. Haha. :)

PS: This is also a decent hookah hit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtWkTS4TyYY
