Gee, I hope not. What alot of fuddling. I flunked batt/volt/whatnot 101. I like my chucks, because of ease of use. Very simple no fuddling. All I gotta do is pick my batts and screw on a carto. No thinking required. As the batt drops, you are not necessarily vaping at what you think you are anyway and the idea of constantly checking voltage is nuts to me.

I think for some smokers, who smoked as a primary task, not a secondary, the fuddling things are great. For those of use who go way back, smoking was a secondary task (cause you could smoke anywhere) the fuddling and stuff is a great replacer for primary task smokers but secondary task smokers want straight to the point vaping. Of course I only speak for myself, smoking was something I did in ''addition to driving, being on the puter, drinking, getting ready for work....I never simply went outside 'just to have a cig' and when I did it was usually a hit or two then I'd toss it.

I don't think any mod can be all things to all people. There's variable voltage, multiple voltage, adjustable draw, juice boxes, automatic juice feeders, electronic activation, wire-free, button on the top, bottom button, button in the middle, single atomizer, double atomizer...

The more things a mod tries to be, the fewer it will do well. The Chuck's strengths are the customization and the fact that it's built like a tank. I'm sure Jeff will incorporate advances that make sense for the Chuck (and I, for one, would welcome a flat, more protected button) but one of the draws of a Chuck for most people is that you just pick it up and vape.

i have to agree with poeia. the greatest thing for my about my chuck is i topp off my carto a few times a day screw it on and vape.

on a side note if 5 volts is the sweet spot and the battteries get used and the voltage goes down i think the vaping experience will go down faster then if u start at 6v.

so for me i like the longer lasting sweet spot. i get atleast 2 days befor i need to charge the batteries and it works consistantly every time.

buy adding some type of reostat u also add another piont of posable failure to the pv.

If having the option of adjusting your voltage is too complicated, I apologize. For me, I'm hardly 'fuddling' at all with my variable voltage mod. I was 'fuddling'' much more before I had it, trying to find a flavor and atty that would work for me consistently. ;-)

Complicated only because my life is plenty complicated enough, that's all. I like my pv's simple. A couple of times I went looking at some other mods, I ended up thinking, nah, I am happy with what I got.

I am not dissing on the variable thing one bit. I bet for some, it is the cats .... I was just pointing out, that for others, not so much. I want to pick up and vape, I do not make a conscious effort to vape, rather it is just something I do, just like when I smoked. I change the batts every morning and I grab a bottle of juice and keep a spare carto somewhere at the bottom of my purse, that's it. No more difficult than grabbing my cigs and a lighter. I smoked for 28 years, the novelty of the 'toy' was brief, all I wanted was to grab a cig again. I quit 100% once I had something that was simple and always working....that would be my chuck. I don't even like to deal with atty's either. PITA for me. This worked for me and dangit, when it came to finally being able to quit something as addicting as smoking was, it's a big freakin deal! The only thing you'll see me bugging Jeff about is T-shirts! Not changes.

I agree. Everone has their own likes and dislikes and one persons favorite isn't for everyone. We're all individuals.:toast:

Voltage regulators take care of this. Where you set the voltage is where it stays from full charge, till the batts go back on the charger :) :toast:

And I, too, totally agree with Poeia on this. Trying to get too much into one mod would be crazy. I say go with what you've got and try and make it the best design you can. There will never be "The best mod" just like there was never "the best cigarette". Everyone's taste buds and styles are just too different, which is awesome!!

This is what the Fistpack takes care of. Even during the vape the power remains constant. Costs quite a bit more than a Chuck but less than a few cartons of analogs.

well as we all know technology changes and advances. Sooner or later things will change. Im just wondering if the adjustable units are the next standard.

I'd pretty much bet the farm that we see a number of variable voltage mods now that the gates have opened. Keep your eyes open for new adjustable voltage models from many of the well-known manufacturers within the coming months. ;-)

I did not know this. I think there was one out there that did not. I don't follow the reviews too much. Like I said, I bet they are fantastic for alot of people.

As far as new standards, I'd say that VV is already a standard with as many models out there as there are that have variables.

New standards, well.. I'm still waiting on the mysterious "pulse" being worked on.

I have a variable voltage mod and it just rocks. Use a juice pump with it and it's amazing.

That being said, I still get a lot of mileage out of my Little Chuck. There are times when 3.7v does me just fine, and my Little Chuck always works like a charm, and I won't have to worry about dropping it and screwing up some electronics.

I'll always be a Chuck fan.

Hey, I've nosed around, checked out some hot looking mods but can't bring myself to even think about cheating on my chuck. Figured the fiddley stuff will wear off fast and then I'd be kicking myself, knowing that I could have added one or two more fine chucks to my collection. Of course, at this rate, if I order anymore, Jeff is gonna have to let me help fabricate it! I'd leave the painting to him though, I still have not heard the end of the job I did painting the bathroom and that was years ago. I am not allowed to paint anything but my fingernails in this house!
