...OK OK I keep reading from sources that are trying to stop the use of the e cig, that ads are targeting teens .....what I would like to know is where are they ????....I have a TV 6 months out of the year and watch a lot of different stations, and the only e cig ads I have seen are targeted to adults if the fellow doing the talking is any indication .....he looks to be in his 30s or so .....

are they putting them in teen mags ??

and besides, the only people who are rich enough to put out media ads are Blu and their ilk ....owned by tobacco companies aren't they ???

and all this talk about fruit flavors and candy flavors and such also "targeting the young" ...well I gave up tobacco flavor at the same time I gave up reg cigs ......I went straight to cherry and grape and cotton candy .....and I am 63 ! still have a sweet tooth .....

and the juice itself I have had, and I have ordered from at least 10 different companies, doesn't smell like much ....certainly not as strong a cherry drop candy .....

stupid people ....

Nicotine is a poison, it's true, but like many other substances, it can be both a poison and a theraputic drug .....

In studies in the last 20 years, nicotine has been shown to help with Alzheimers, ADHD, depression, it can help grow new blood vessels ( studiying that for use with people with diabetes! ....and several other health problems .....

it can act as a stimulant, or as a calming agent ....

the only reason people are so scared of it is it's concrete connection to reg cigs....and they are poison ....

and I just read on the site about the FDA ruling on it by the end of this month that people are vaping just for vaping sake ....not to quit smoking ......wrong ! ....I consider myself an ex-smoker ......wouldn't touch a reg cig with a 10 foot pole .....but take my e cig away from me and blood will be spilt !

To date, the only ads I've ever seen related to vaping are the ones Blu put out. And those definitely aren't targeted at kids, they push the "former smoker" angle pretty hard. They're just recycling all of the old anti-smoking propaganda with a few words changed around, since they're having a hard time coming up with actual negative aspects of vaping.

I haven't seen any ads targeting young people, either, but I noticed something scary when I went into a new vape shop the other day.

The attendant was 19 (he said so), and he seemed to vape pretty heavily.

Then, a couple of days later, I went into the same shop and, while the owner is probably in his late 20s/early 30s, a high school senior came into the shop (who was skipping school at the time, BTW), and was having troubles with his iClear X.I. I know he was still in high school because the owner asked him about it and he mentioned that he was *almost* out of school for the year and was going to community college next year.

Okay, I'm probably being a hypocrite here, as I started smoking at 15, but is it a trend for youngsters to start vaping instead of smoking now?

The other problem is that the store that I went into advertizes that it's healthier than smoking, and that it's a stop-smoking aid, two of the things that vendors here are not allowed to do (and if I'm not mistaken, may even be against the law to do so).

Okay, we're 99.99% sure it's healthier (that's why I'm doing it), and so many people have used it as nicotine replacement, but for some reason we're still not allowed to say it.

For some reason, politicians believe that the kids look up to actors like Stephen Dorff and Jenny McCarthy (both in their 40's by the way), because they were marginally relevant to the mainstream 15 years ago.

give it another decade and the young people will be taking inspiration from Ed Asner and the re-animated skeleton of George Burns.

Yea the flavoring argument gets me because how about the flavored Vodka these days? or the Cupcake Moscato? Whats the difference?
I'm all for e cigs being limited to over 18, because it doesn't effect my purchasing and I would prefer my kids not smoke/vape/drink.

Exactly. The flavor argument is baseless unless they address alcohol at the same time. But, too much money from alcohol, so that will be left alone.

I'm sorry guys, I think this may have been all my fault. I own a vape shop near an elementary school and business hasn't been so good. So I took out an ad in Highlights and the school newsletter that shows Elmo doing Miley Cirus doggy style (tastefully on a rainbow) while he drinks Cherry vodka and vapes Beary Beary Gum Drop and she enjoys some Tooty Tooty Wonder Fruity while midgets in teddy bear outfits watch and cheer. (Oddly enough, Miley agreed to do the ad for free but insisted on being buck naked in it). The ad was a horrible failure (if you don't count the throngs of Dads who came in and bought new vape stuff just so they could get a pic with Miley) because little kids have no disposable income. Next time I'll have to put an ad in the middle school newsletter. Those kids have money.
