I feel the same way. But pick one up and give it a try. I don't think it's a better vape and you really have to make sure to keep the carto wet.

Because if you don't...

have you tried a dual coil carto? I've heard good things about using a dual coil one but no one has really explained why.

I just switch to cartos and I have been using dual coils and have been loving them. I get great VTF Vapor Throat Hit and Flavor. I can say maybe just a lil hardly notice a lil mute on flavor, but you dont get those dry hits like a clearo. I like clearos they give a good flavor but that dry hit and having to dry burn after a couple tanks of juice kinda sucks. I also drip you can pick up a 306 or 510 atty about anywhere if you really want a nice atty try the HH 357 at avidvaper(dot)com. Dripping does give you the best flavor and vapor and some throat hit but then u got to carry a bottle of juice around and drip all the time.

Dual coils generally expose more total surface area of wick to the heat. In theory, a richer vape. In practice, can be hard to differentiate. Whether it's "better" depends on what you're using now and how well what you've got heats up and wicks your particular liquid viscosity. So, ... Try one and see if you like it. For me, I didn't notice much of a vaping experience improvement but it does use more battery current.

Yes indeed it does use more battery. I just got the Smoketech SID last week and have been vaping between 7 and 8 watts with my 1.5s and 2 and 3 ohm cartos. You have to have those cartos filled nice and saturated. I got the ones with 1mm hole already in them so what I do is take my punch or whatever you have like a nail and I widen the hole just a lil then punch another hole on the other side and I use 80/20 pg vg or higher like 90. It never floods on me with those 2 holes the stock 1mm modified a lil bigger and another one punched not a full punch just were it makes a hole which I would say 1 to 1.5mm maybe 2mm. On the first fill and priming I drop 30 to 35 drops and this is on 35mm length cartos for tanks and will let it soak in until I see some weeping out of the punched holes then I will put it in my tank put some juice in and do some primer puffs about 12 to 15 you will see bubbles from the hole. You will know its full when it starts to not make bubbles and gets a lil bit of a gargle not a loud stronger gargle and I let it set for 15 mins. Then vape away and it works great. I do want to get some single coils to try. That will be my next purchase. How do you compare and think about the single vs duals Mad Scientist?

I've been using the iclear 16's by innokin and I have to say its the best clearo I've tried (and I've tried many)
Never a dry, burnt hit and never leaks!
Battery life is a bit shorter, I make sure I always have a second fully charged.
And it does use more liquid but lately I've been sniping two of the four wicks and its using less liquid with no other negative side effects.
I say try it, I think you will like it!

what is the real advantage of a dual vs single coil clearomizer? thanks.

I recently switched my main tank from a Protank to an iClear 30, and I love the results. I also have a dual coil Chimbus for dripping, and yes, it really does eat up liquid very quickly! I find the vapor to be more rich, the flavor to be more forward, but you do need to run quite a bit of power through them in comparison. I would say try a side by side comparison!

I started out using dual coil Smoktech carts in my first tanks because that's what came with them. I didn't know any better, and just assumed dual coils were the only thing you could use in them. But I noticed that I often got a burnt taste or harsh vapor with them.

I did some research here and found out that most cartotank users are using single coil cartomizers. I got some and have never gone back to dual coils. No more burnt taste, harshness, possibly a smoother vape with more flavor, and longer battery life. Why would I go back?

Current cartomizer: Ikenvape 510 Fusion or Platinum, standard resistance, 2-hole punched!

Backup cartomizer: Smoktek 3.0 ohm single coil with 2 laser-drilled holes

Not really a fan of clearomizers, so I seriously doubt that I'll ever try a dual coil clearo.

I have been using dual-coil cartos for about a year now. They are the only thing I have used that come close to actually dripping directly on an atomizer. They never burn my juice, I get tons of vapor and flavor. I think single coil cartos SUCK!! So to each their own I guess!

So why not get a good dripper, and be done with the clearos that don't work as well.

Ohhhhh, I got to rattle the chain

Fair enough. I like the fill n go aspect of cartos. I do have a new innokin iclear 30 I just started using today and I love it!! Just wish it had a pyrex tank. If they make the iclear 30 in a pyrex tank I will probably buy 5 or 6 of them and be done with everything else. I LIKE SIMPLE.
