Advice about importing e-juice/e-cigs

I live in Chile now and am having problems importing my e-juice.

I just found out there is a store that sells juice here, but when I made the order last month I couldn't find any. I wasn't about to go to cartomizers since they're limited to 15mg, not enough nicotine for me. I spoke to Boge and purchased 20x 30ml juices and an e-cig kit. They make my favorite juice (Red Bull 26mg).

Now the shipping company (TNT) told me to go to the National Health Service (Servicio Nacional de Salud). The SNS is asking me to submit a document listing the contents of the liquid. Boge listed the juice as Aromatic Essence and the kit as mist maker and spare parts. I have a feeling there might be some problems if they find out it has nicotine. It's not illegal here, but I'm just worried. After this is all cleared up I have to go to the airport to pick up the package.

Any advice?

If the nic is not illegal, then there should be no problem .. what else can you do except follow the proceedure .. ?? Most Countries have requirements, especially when a package gets pulled by Customs ..

Alright, thanks for setting my mind at ease. It's not illegal but there has been talk about making it illegal. I'll keep this thread updated.

Boge gave me a list of the contents of the liquid. Lots of chemicals but googling them identified them as flavors, etc. No big problems, minus stupid Chilean bureaucracy. Now I just have to drag my .... to the airport. Annoying that the office closes at 1pm and is only open M-F. I didn't have to pay any taxes either. They wouldn't understand what it was so I just said it was aromatherapy, which worked just fine. It's technically correct... Figured I'd update the thread if anyone's interested.

Wow, I never thought Chile would have such tough customs. I have ten lavatube mini's coming in through U.S. customs. I really hope there won't a problem.

Yeah, it's kinda nuts. I just got a bit unlucky. I hear that sometimes they just let items through and it really just depends on how the person at customs is feeling.

Anyway, I bet there would have been no problem if there wasn't any e-juice.

Too bad I can't go to the airport for another week. Trying my other juices. I have nearly a liter of liquid of other flavors, but RedBull is my fav...

You should be fine if there is no prohibition law in place. Some time ago, in May 2010, Chile had announced intention to prohibit e-cigs, and referenced a pending bill in May 2011. Do you know what had happened to the mentioned prohibition bill?

No news on that end. It is insane that Chile was/is thinking about banning ecigs. I saw that post last year. It's just that there are so many smokers in this country. The three ecig companies here still exist, but they suck. Think blu... ecigs probably saved my life and defintely saved my career. I am a pro woodwind player and was getting bronchitis two to three times a year. It's kinda hard to play when I'm hacking up my lungs! If anything, Chile needs more ecigs.

If I hear anything I'll definitely post here. I'm actually considering starting a business here, but the difficulties I've had importing are definitely not making me want to. There is definitely a market for quality ecig products that actually work well enough so that you don't want to smoke!

If I may also add, I highly doubt a ban will happen anytime soon. There is a huge problem with the education system now, amongst other things. As I see it, the government has a heck of a lot more important things to deal with before they get around to discussing ecigs.

Alright, made it to the airport today. Lucked out and didn't have to pay anything... Had to wait around an hour an a half at the airport though. Pain in the ...., but at least I didn't have to pay anything.

The Boge LEO works well, reminds me a lot of the eGo-T. It's pretty much exactly the same. And I got the nifty fattie 30ml bottles for Energy Cow. Here's a pic of one of the boxes.
