Advice DIY SERIES BOX MOD ISSUES

Hey guys, i am new to this forum.

i recently just build a series box mod in an alpinetech1590g. it is my third box mod, and i decided to include two switches ( on/off and voltmeter + led switch ) i am very sure i wired in series but my voltmeter readings is only 4.2v instead of 8.4v ! it seems like it is only reading from one battery !

i need help guys !

i hope you can see my drawings. also due to bad planning i couldnt get the switch to fit in flush any ideas on how i can make it look nicer or fix it ? i dont want it shorting too.

This would give you your series voltage when you turn on the switch. Im running on 4 hours sleep in the last 38 hours so I cant think much on how to include the darn fire button. But this will allow you to hit your toggle switch and check your voltage.

Thanks ! do i have to solder the positve to the drain in the mosfet too ? because i saw the wire passing through the drain in the diagram.

no. mosfet drain should go to 510 neg.
