Advice for a new unit

Hello everyone!

I'm a bit overwhelmed by all of the options out there for batteries, clearomizers, etc. I currently have a basic eGo-CE4 and am wanting to move to something a bit better. I know the general advice is to try different things out and figure out what you like, BUT I'll be moving to a small little village in the Middle East for 6 months two weeks from now, so would like to get it as right as possible the first time :) So I thought if I wrote down what I'm looking for in a unit, hopefully someone on here would have some good advice.

1) I'm definitely thinking a variable voltage battery. Is it best then to pair this with a clearomizer / cartridge etc with variable resistance? I found this chart to help me out with determining ohms: https://store-549f5.mybigcommerce.com/product_images/uploaded_images/voltagechart-lg.jpg

2) I don't like the heat of the current set up, sometimes it gets so warm that I feel like I'm burning the roof of my mouth.

3) NO LEAKAGE! I keep my units in my purse, and the first few hits when I use them, I feel like I'm eating more of the ejuice than inhaling it.

4) While I plan on ordering more clearomizers before I go because they're a "safe bet", I would also like something that I can clean and resuse while down there (obviously ordering more online won't be an option for a while). It has to be easy to clean, because let's face it, I'm still pretty new to this whole thing :)

5) I find with my current setup that the taste of the ejuice isn't that strong. Is this due to the type of ejuice I'm using, or the setup? (Menthol seems to be fine, however, but anything sweet doesn't really come through).

Thanks in advance!

If want you zero leakage, I recommended the ECA atomizer built for an eVic. I hate leaks myself, and this is the first atty that has yet to spit in my mouth no matter how it's used. Especially if you like to vape lying down in bed. Just be sure to stock up on replacement atty heads (eGo-C type) for it.

But take what I say with a grain of salt, I'm pretty new to this game and there are much more experienced users in this forum. And I've only had my ECA atty for about three days.

I can't say enough about how well the 1300 mAh spinners have worked for me, variable voltage, long battery life and if you wear it on a lanyard like I do...never any spillage. I use them with protanks. I also have a provari and a couple of gripper box mods but for some indescribable reason I always go back to my spinners.

I think an EVOD, Protank or similar bottom coil clearomizer would take care of you problems with too much heat, poor flavor and leakage. If you really want to avoid leakage, the cartomizers and even UDCT locking cartomizer tanks would be the safest bet. Just be sure to order extra coil heads or extra cartomizers depending on which you choose.

As for power supplies, a couple of Twist/Spinner/Winder batteries and an extra charger would be the cheapest way to go. You could also consider getting a Zmax or Vamo if you want to move up one more step. Maybe an inexpensive Bolt for a backup. Just keep in mind that you will also need to get a charger and enough batteries to feel comfortable with.

The taste of your juice is tough to rate. It could be the juice, the nic level you are using or the CE4 that's at the root of the problem.

I would have to second the EVOD
it just is so simple, dependable, and cheap...
get an evod kit (650mAh batt)-http://vaporladyloungestore.com/collections/starter-kits/products/genuine-kanger-evod-starter-kit-red
or buy separate evod tanks and bigger batteries (1000, 1100, 1300 mAh)
charger (s) / coils (1.8 & 2.2) / e-juices

EVOD's have a good reputation for flavor and vapor, but the 3 I ordered all spit in my mouth and gurgle and give me less flavor than my T2's. I added an extra wick and it seems to have helped. I like the Kanger T2's but that does produce a warm/hot hit, which I like, but probably not for you.

Menthol and cinnamon flavors are naturally stronger than most sweet or fruity flavors. Your best bet is to try as many flavors as you can in as many different tanks, cartos, and clearos to see what you like best. I realize you're short on time, but you could order from vendors that ship quick, give them a test run, and then order more of what you like.

I haven't gone any further than an ego twist and I have no desire to (too expensive for me). I hardly ever turn it up past 4.2V. It usually stays around 3.7-4.0 and I use my "fixed voltage" ego 3.7 and get the same results.

That's just my 2 cents. I'm still new at this too, for what it's worth.

Hi

If you are going to be somewhere without ready access to supplies, you might want to consider a device with replaceable batteries. While the batteries used for vaping are not the sort you can buy at a corner shop, it's probably easier to order replacement batteries especially if there are any import restrictions on e-cig products.

I've used the vivi mininova and after a cocktails realized I was practically drinking the juice. It was leaking everywhere! I only use protanks now but have been really happy with the new protank mini. I like the smaller size of it. I know someone else mentioned the vamo and that's what I currently have as well. I originally bought the typical joyetech ego starter kit but upgraded to the vamo and it suits my needs just fine. I'm really new to it all as well. I've only been vaping about 4 months but really wish someone would have suggested something like the vamo in the beginning because I bought quite a bit of other stuff that now sits in a drawer.

If you are looking to get a similar battery design to yours look into ego c twists or vision spinners to get the vv. If you're looking to upgrade to a mod your options would vary a lot based on how much you are looking to spend and what size/style/features/blahblahblah you'd want. Kanger clearos seem to be popular in this thread and I would have to agree. Evods and protanks have given me the least stress in that department. If your willing to invest time in learning about rebuildables it may be easier to stock up on supplies for your move. Wick and coil material would cost much less in bulk than buying 6 months worth of evod heads. If you get a dripping atomizer you could buy just regular sterile cotton from CVS, and order kanthal wire online (you can get 100 ft for around 10 bucks some places). It would take some research on your part but they are pretty easy to pick up on quickly.
