hi, i'm new to the forum. i've used a joyetech ego in the past but found it didn't work all that well - didn't produce much vapor (this was several years ago). i've read about sub-ohm vaping and i'm looking preferably for a pen-style vape that could do that. i've googled it and come up with a variety of options but don't know which might be best or which brand has the best reputation (originally was going to buy an eleaf ijust 2 but was told by a vaporizer store owner that the company might not make the best products?). anyone have advice for best vape pen for this?

It’s hard to get enough power into a small enough package to do good DL with a pen style. My sister was an ego user and after a lot of looking about I got her a target min which she is happy with. It’s not a pen style but it’s very very small. Not really full on DL but just about everything beats an ego.

Hi and welcome. I don't recommend pen types much-- I like tube mechs but they're for advanced users who are also coil builders-- but something like Pico starter kit might work for you. It isn't pen style, but it isn't big either. Removable battery, adjustable watts up to 75, and a 510 connection to fit most tanks. The included tank is OK, but not spectacular.

There is also 100w pico. The ello tank is better that the smok tank. Vaping they are similar but the fill method is better in the ello. I have the istick pico 21700 and that is the one that is 100w

Here's a suggestion if you want to subohm. Look at the thread below at the link. It is by me (Chellie) and it is the last post on the page.

thanks for the links and recommendations, i'll be sure to read through them. figured 'sub-ohm' vaping was a bit more complex than MTL devices, but i originally posted this question after googling and finding this page (which lists some pens that use sub-ohm tanks) and going through online vape shops and seeing things like the smok stick prince 'pen'-style kit. i'll check out box mods.

i'm the process of moving and needed a vaporizer quickly, ended up ordering the eleaf ijust2 and some coils from a store online that didn't tell me my order was out of stock until i inquired over a week later (after the delivery date had passed). now i'm five days away from a two-day long trip without a vaporizer for the road. might need to visit that vape shop (only one in my town).

anyway, thanks.

How about the Eleaf invoke kit one of the lovelier mods out there. I won the kit, and the tank size is a little small for DL sub0hm vaping in my opinion, but the mod itself is fantastic. You also don't HAVE to go with a kit, I find that really I'm happiest selecting my mods and tanks separately. I would consider an Eleaf invoke mod, and maybe put a Crown Uwell tank on top (either the original or the V3 seems to be the consensus). I don't sub0hm but people are pretty consistently positive about that tank, and it does offer a wide range of resistance coils so you can experiment and see which resistance you like best..

I wouldn't recommend the tarot nano for an all-day sub0hm vape. I really like my nano kit but I use it in MTL fashion, and the tank is small as well, you'd be doing a lot of refilling and recharging if you wanted to use it as an all-day, really sub0hm kit. I don't think the nano is going to suit your purposes, although I do really like it, and would recommend Vapresso, generally, as far as quality. They do pretty well, but they have kits that are larger and would be better suited to your needs, I think.

Best of luck,

Anna

Personally, I'll never recommend any SMOK or SmokTech product. There are just too many issues involved with them.

I'll agree that the eleaf istick Pico is an excellent place to start for a beginner. Either the Aspire Nautilus or Uwell Crown (original) tanks offer a simple mouth-to-lung vaping experience.

You'll need batteries and a charger:

LG HG2 20A 3000mah
Samsung 25R 20A 2500mah
Sony VTC5A 25A 2600mah

Efest LUC V2 charger
