a 1.8 ohm dual coil contains two 3.6 ohm coils.
if the ohm jumps from 1.8 to 3.6, chances are one of the coils is not firing.

yes the old tank will work on the istick; just start low watts and move up slowly.
if you put too much power it will burn out the coil, (and cough a lot)

oh wait; if its the mini protank, that uses ego thread; you will need to use the 510/ego adapter that ought to come with the istick.

The mini pro tank, Evod coils are super easy to rebuild, and you can make them much better than the factory by hand winding the coils and using Rayon wicking. It costs basically nothing to rebuild a coil and if you can thread a needle and hand sew you can probably redo a coil. There are vids on YouTude on rebuilding Evod and GS Air coils.

I have 7 coils that came with my Evod, same coil as the Protanks, 5 months ago. I'm still rebuilding them and haven't bought any more coils for the Evod. I've had my GS Airs for about 4 months and am still using the 8 coils I got with them by rebuilding them. I may order some more GS coils soon as rebuilding them is harder on the coil shroud than it is rebuilding an Evod coil.

It's only expensive if you Make it that way.
