Before I bought my first ecig I came on here and did some research/asked questions and was very pleased with the help I got from the community. I ended up buying a evic and used a kanger protank which I upgraded to a protank 2.

However, I do think its time for a change. I don't hate the protank 2 but I feel like there are probably better options out on the market right now since I haven't really done any research or kept up for the last year or two. So I though I'd ask the vape experts in this forum...

These days it seems tanks like protank2/3 etc are classified as 'noob' or 'beginner' tanks and sub ohm tanks are all the rage (at least that's the idea I got from visiting a review site like this)... While I really dont care if I'm using a noob/ beginner tank, I just want something that is considered 'good' by the community.

I was decently happy with my protank2 but it was definitely spotty at times with minor gurgling, leakage, random times evic not detecting atomizer even though I tried to fix it/clean it etc, not the best vapes etc... all in all though it did serve well and I think I'd give it a 7.5/10

I see so many different tanks on the kanger site and it's easy to get confused. I like the ease of use of replacing the coil/atomizer and then just vaping... so not very interested in rebuilding coils and such... Also creating massive clouds is fine but not a major thing for me, I just want something easy to use, good flavor, works with my evic and maybe not a lot of issues like gurgling or leaking

I've looked at aspire nautilus, kanger aerotank and now it seems there's a kanger subtank that's all the rage.. I'm up for any opinions/thoughts you guys might have... What would you guys recommend?

I don't personally use clearo tanks any longer, as I am into rebuilding exclusively for the last year. I did work most of last year at a vape shop, so I'm pretty familiar with what is on the market.

I would recommend either the Aspire Nautilus (standard or mini) or the Kanger Aerotank for your specific application. I recommended that my daughter use the Nautilus, and she is quite pleased with it. You appear to want quality replaceable coil heads, and I recommend a unit which has air flow control for either a loose or tight draw. The Nautilus and Aerotank will provide what you need.

Thanks Baditude,

Yes exactly, I want something that's easy to use and you hit the nail on the head with quality replaceable coil heads

I heard the Nautilus name being thrown around a lot whenever I've asked for suggestions.. How do you find it compares to the newer 'subohm' stuff these days like a kanger subtank etc

From my understanding, those subohm tanks also offer 'easy replaceable coil heads' but supposedly have better performance?

Well, your Evic will not fire sub-ohm coils, so that answers that question about the subohm tanks.

I've heard good feedback with the Aspire Atlantis, but it requires homemade coils as I understand. I've seen a long time vaper (and subohm dripper) buy a eGo Vision Spinner and put a Mini Nautilus on top and blow some pretty impressive vaper clouds as he wanted to try something "retro".

Using a Joyetech Evic... is that suitable with the subohm tanks? I assume all I'm supposed to do is lower the variable voltage to the lowest setting to use with subohms?

your evic would not be able to fire low ohm coils like 0.5 ohms coils.
It will should fire the 1.2 ohm coils I think.

You should be good with the nautilus.

Your evic can use a sub tank, but only with the 1.2 ohm coils. Be warned, even with the 1.2 ohm coil, you will probably need to lower your Nic. I would say if you want to stick with the evic, look at the aspire nautilus or kanger aerotank. I still use an aerotank for my low wattage high Nic vaping now and then

I grab my Nautilus and Istick 50w on the way out the door for work or a night out. I drip at home. I started with a Protank 2 and it was ok. Reviews led me to a Nautilus and I really like it. RDAs are just not practical for all day vaping. I don't want to worry about leaking or constantly dripping. Building coils, mixing juice and blowing clouds is fun, just not when you have things that need done. Above all, keep the old tanks for backups. You never know when a malfunction can happen.

^^THIS

I was unpacking after moving and set my Atlantis/SMOK XPRO M80 Plus, poof! it disappeared. I'm using my Nautilus/Innokin iTaste MVP till the Atlantis V2/SMOK XPRO M80 Plus arrives.

UPDATE: it arrived!
