Hi guys,

I'm really interested in getting a Provari e-cig, but was wondering if someone with experience with their products could help me in the selection process.

I'm thinking of getting the 2.5 Provari e-cig, but a new version is coming out relatively soon right? does anyone have any idea when it might come out? Should I just wait for the new one to come out so the 2.5 version will hopefully be cheaper?

At the moment, they seem to have a 2.5 starter kit:
The ProVari™ V2.5 Starter Kit Includes:
• 1 - ProVari Variable Voltage Electronic Vaporizer with a 510 connection
• 2 - 18490 AW high drain batteries
• 1 - Battery Charger - Charges two batteries at a time
• 1 - Your Choice of Iclear30S or Aspire Nautilus + Beauty Ring (additional cost)

Would this be good?

I read in other threads that people are recommending another battery, as well as other parts... should I perhaps get each individual part separately instead of this bundle? (though it will most likely be a lot more expensive)

For example, in another post, a lot of people were recommending another battery, i believe it was the 18650 because the battery last longer on each use... but how is this 18490 battery that comes with the starter kit? How long does the 18490 last compare to the 18650 battery before it needs to be put in the charger?
since i work from home and recharging is not really a problem, in addition, with 2 batteries, i could just switch one out with the refreshly charged one when one runs out, but will two 18490 be good for a whole day?

And how about the other parts? What would you guys recommend?

lastly, do most of you guys get the extended 2 year warranty? I hear that provari makes amazing products and they seldom malfunction, so is 2 year warranty necessary? (i'm asking this because i've recently moved and am no longer residing in the u.s., so if the product does break, the returning/mailing of product back and forth is going to be a pain since it'll take a while to ship the product oversea and back and it'll just be a pain in the ..., as well as a good few weeks without the product.....that's why i'm contemplating on whether to get the 2 years extended warranty, or just simply not get it and hope for the best with the 1 year warranty that comes along with the product.

oh, and one question about the variable voltage.... that controls how much vapor you get on each puff right? the more voltage gives you more vapor, and the lower the setting produce smaller amount of vapor?

I would just start with the 2 18490 batteries. I can get a day out of an 18350, but I don't chain vape all day. If it were me, I would just get a blem for $130, the Tenergy charger ProVape sells, a couple 18490 batteries and skip the tanks they offer and go with an IBTanked carto tank. Carto tanks are cheaper in the long run and offer a much better experience than clearo tanks, in my opinion. There's no telling when the P3 comes out- maybe before Christmas...
Warranties are piece of mind, but with ProVape's reputation, I think the standard 1 year is sufficient.
Voltage for me is taste. Juice tastes different at different power levels. Vapor production doesn't mean anything to me, but the IBTanked carto tanks I use produce more than any cigarette or cigar could...

The current deal of free extension cap & free blue/green LED upgrade is a nice sale, probably the best they've ever had.. If anybody is currently in the market for one, I highly recommend jumping all over that..

Works out to $35 in savings.. (Be sure to check the Extension Cap field, & also select from the blue or green LED field if you don't want red)..

I can't speak to the particular battery charger, but I'm sure it's at least acceptable.. And a dual-bay charger is really nice to have.. I could never go back to a single-bay..

Definitely get the AW batteries.. I personally use 18650, but everybody is different with that..

Finally, if you need an extra clearo (iClear/Aspire), then go for it.. The kit seems like a fair deal..

Appears most people here don't get the 2nd-year warranty, but again, a personal choice.. And if something does go wrong with it after year 1, and you don't have the 2-year warranty, you can still send it in to have it repaired, perhaps for a reasonable fee..

As for P3, I wouldn't wait.. The V2.5 is still really nice, and I don't think they're going to drop the price by $35, like they're doing with the current sale..

I got my 2nd & 3rd ProVari a few months ago, knowing full well that the P3 was on the horizon.. Very glad I did.. Actually looking for my 4th V2.5 (Dragon version) when it hits ProVape's site -- again, even after seeing the P3 reviews on YouTube..

I think most people are very happy with the V2.5.. The P3 has more bells & whistles, but will also be more expensive & perhaps more difficult to get for a while -- whenever it does launch..

I have 2 ProVari Mini and use AW IMR 18490 batts and they last all day. If you have two batts and rotate them out...you'll be fine. I didn't get an extended warranty, just the standard one year and I haven't had any issues anyway (knocking on wood...). Plus, if something should happen, ProVape charges minimal fees for many repairs.

Personally, I'd go with the Nautilus over the iClears. I'm using the standard and mini Nautilus BVC coils on the ProVari and it's been great. And as far as waiting till the P3 is launch, not sure if the 2.5 will be any cheaper than they are now. So it's a gamble whether to wait or go for it. Either way, it's a great investment and the ProVari will last you a long time.

I'm a new Provari owner and bought mine in the classifieds on ECF. Yes it's used but the owner bought in January and listed it as like new. It's the 2.5 with the extension cap so I can use 18650's, which last me all day. If you don't buy the kit and vape a lot I would advise the extension cap. Buy Provapes batteries and charger as you don't want to be using cheap batteries you may see online. As stated above I also use the IB Tanked carto system as I love the taste and vapor they provide. I have no warranty, but I'm not worried as there are so many great reviews of the Provari unlike the other mods. The safety factor and quality build are worth the money. I had to try out one of them by using a 2.0 ohm carto and setting the voltage to 6 volts. It didn't fire but gave me the error notice. I lowered the voltage down and sure enough it fired.

I'm sure the P3 will be bullet proof, but if you are not into sub ohm vaping or cloud chasing I would say pick up the 2.5 and enjoy a great vape experience on a safe made in the USA mod. Good luck and happy vaping.

If you get the kit, choose the Aspire Nautilus over the iClear 30, its a much better tank. You can also use the new Mini Nautilus "vertical coil/ceramic wick" replacement coils in the larger Nautilus tank. These are revolutionary coils.

It's your choice about the extended warranty; I normally don't recommend it due to the stellar reliability of the Provari. But since you live overseas, it may fit your situation to get it just to be safe. But, as others have said, even if you need repair work post-warranty, the repair fees are very reasonable.

Many people can get a full day's use from the default 18490 AW battery. If you get two, you'll be covered for all day useage, especially if you work from home.

Why Provari?

The 18650 last me apx. twice as long as the 18500 (18490). And yes, the higher voltage will give more vapor to a point. But you need to tailor it to the atty. Too much voltage for a give ohm will burn it. I try to start at the ohm number and add 2 volts. I usually settle for that with .2 subtracted.

example. 2.5 ohm atty equal 2.5 volts + 2 = 4.5 voltage. .2 less, more flavor with many juices. +.2 stronger vapor at the cost of atty life.

iBTanked Cartomizer is the the thing holds the e-liquid right? why is this better? just bigger so it holds more at a time?
which iBTanked cart is meant for provari 2.5?
https://www.ibtanked.com/accessories/cartomizers

and are there any parts that i need to get multiples of? like things that might wear and tear over time? like the wick that touches the heating mechanism inside the e-cig?
these things?
http://www.provape.com/IClear30S-Dual-Coil-Refill-p/iclear30srefill.htm

i had a really old and simple e-cig back in the days, back then we had to cut up those filters and use them as the thing that soaks up the e-liquid, but that was so much of a hassle, because it leaks, and sometimes you get a burnt taste after a while once the eliquid has been all used up.

also, how do you guys clean your provari?

Hi

An IBTanked is a very nice glass carto tank, but it's only a carto tank like Phiniac and others. It just happens to be a favorite of ProVari owners. The 22mm tube with a beauty ring is flush with the ProVari body.

You'll likely remember cartomizers from the old days. A heat coil with filler material wrapped around it, inside of a metal tube. It used to be vaped just by itself, but now it's mostly used in tanks. A hole is punched in the jacket and the juice is wicked into the filler material.

(the hole is so it can be used in a tank)

ProVape recommends cartos at around 2.5Ω, which gives a good range of voltage settings, but since it's variable voltage you can use pretty much any of them.

iClear30S Dual Coil Refill Heads

If you are using "clearomizer" attachments (like the iClear, Nautilus, etc.) you will need to buy extra "heads" (coils), since they are replaceable. With a carto tank, you'll have to buy cartos.

The State of Confusion
Great advice all!

There is not enough good to say about the quality and value of the Provar'!

I now own 4, two mini', and 2 regular 2.5'

The mini' are really the way to go for many as your are really not limited to the battery setups:
( I started with a regular with the extension cap as I have a heavy vaping habit)!

1.) Stock, no extended cap you have the 18350 battery configuration

2.) With an extension cap you can use the 18490 battery.

3.) With a Tatroe extension ring, and the Provape Extension cap you can use 18650 batteries.

Provape does not sell the Tatroe extension rings (last time I checked), they run about $22.00 U.S.

They are available from Cigtechs.

It is a very versatile configuration that really allows you the same battery choices as the new P3.

IMHO regarding the P3, I would wait until they have been around a while if you really want one.

Provape has stated they will not discontinue the P2.5' and it is a proven build, rock solid!

As far as what type of tanks or cartridges, well this comes down to personal preferences..

I do not like Carto tanks because they can have a tendency to leak much easier than the BC (Bottom Coil) tanks.

Again brands, well there are a few, the new Nautilus that Baditude mentioned is supposed to be really good!

I have been using the Kanger AeroTank Mega, this is not on Provape' site as of yet; it is a dual coil, bottom coil configuration tank which I have been very pleased with.

We are all here to help, just ask away! :vapor:

I see, so i think i will go with the starter kit since it comes with 2 batteries and a charger as well... then buy the 19mm Cartomizer Tank setup from the IBTanked web site. 19mm Cartomizer Tank

and in the future i just need to replace only the cartomizer right? which are only about a dollar or so each.
https://www.ibtanked.com/accessories/cartomizers

how often do i need to replace the cartomizer though? asking this because i'm oversea so i'm trying to limit the the amount of oversea purchase as possible, and so that i will have a rough idea of how many i should get to start out with as well as how many i will by at once in the future.

*ps, what e-liquid do you guys recommend from pro-vape? do they have a good menthol flavor ? :)

The starter kit is the way to go!

If you get a colored, or custom colored Provari, be sure to go ahead and buy the extender cap (I think it's still a freebie as also the LED color choice, not sure on this).

When I was using cartomizer tanks and even just regular cartos I would go through one every week to two weeks, but I am a heavy vaper!

If you use a tank, do not let the liquid go below the carto hole or holes (don't run it dry).

If you live in the UK Liberty Flights is there, and they sell many cartomizer brands and types.

Flavors, well I'll let someone else chime in as I have never tried their liquids...

Best,

ItTechy

If you want the tank to be flush, get a 22mm tank.
Watermelon is my favorite ProVape juice.

22mm Cartomizer Tank

How should i build this 22mm cartomizer tank though? what tube length or cartomizer should i select for this custom tank? also, is this refilling drip tool useful at all?

And with these, i should be ready to go right? all I need is a handful of e-liquids and perhaps 5 additional cartomizers since cartomizers will be likely used up every 1-2 weeks right?

so sorry for all these stupid questions :D

15mm HalfLing = 0.4ml
15mm Standard= 0.8ml
15mm XL = 1.2ml
19mm HalfLing = 0.7ml
19mm Standard= 1.5ml
19mm XL = 2ml
22mm HalfLing = 1.2ml
22mm Standard = 3ml
22mm XL = 4.5ml
25mm HalfLing = 2ml
25mm Standard = 5ml
25mm XL = 8ml

i hear that when you fill up the tank, it's best to fill it up completely (especially the very first fill) so it doesn't burn the cartomizer?
also, bigger tanks, though can hold more, but if you only have a small-medium sized e-liquid, each fill pretty much will take up a whole bottle! and you're forced to finish up the whole thing before you can switch flavors :)

your halfling seems like a good size though.
--------------------------

quick question about the nicotine level of the e-liquid as well as the size.
Sizes:
3 Bottle Sampler (Contains 3 - 5 ml bottles)
10ml Bottles - Small
15ml Bottles - Medium
30ml Bottles - Large

Strengths:
0mg - Contains no nicotine
6mg - 6mg./ml. (Low)
12mg - 12 mg./ml. (Medium-Low)
18mg - 18 mg./ml. (Medium)
24mg - 24 mg./ml. (High)

for someone who has cut down to about 10-12 cigarettes a day, what nicotine level is more suitable?
and from your personal experience based on how much you smoke a day, how long do these bottles usually last you?
