Hey guys, new here and fairly new to more complex vapes. I've always had simple mod/tank combos for the past few years. I bought a Smok r80 combo a year ago (I think r80 is the model, says it on the side). After extensive leaking I upgraded the tank to an aspire cleito. I've been using .2 cleito coils at 55w... went with the .4 coils today, recommended at my vape shop (this new tank is now leaking). I notice now that I have to drop down to 40w in order to hold a decent taste without burn on my prohibition white lightning juice(75/25). For the past few months my mod has been leaking internally from the charging port and shorting out my charging chord whenever I connect it. I do need a new mod... based on all of the information I gave, what would you recommend? I would really prefer a reasonably priced mod that has external chargeable batteries instead of all this internal crap on the smok lol. Thanks for the advice in advance everyone,
Lou

Hi and Welcome!
I guess I would try to figure out why your tanks are leaking before spending more money on a mod that will get ruined. Leaking so bad that it comes out the mods charger- yikes! You might want to look into a leak free tank like the OBS Engine it is an RTA but really easy to build and wick on, or the new the OBS Nano that is a single coil deck, super easy, OBS has also come out with a sub ohm tank that takes factory coils called the OBS Engine Sub and the OBS Ace!
Mods that I like are the asMODus Minikin V2 and the V1.5- both are dual external battery mods that are small and long lasting battery life, Samsung 25r and Lg HG2 brownies and HE4yellows are what I use, check out Mooch's charts. You will also need a good battery charger like the Nitecore and the XTAR!
Good luck to you and see if you get other suggestions on other leakfree tanks!

Hi Lou & welcome
Atty's can be very sneaky in that they will wait for you to be fast asleep before leaking into your mod which is why when I have one that I'm not sure about I'll take it off the mod before going to bed. If juice gets onto your circuit board your mod may die.

As to a new mod yes I like the Evic VTC's a lot. They are nice sized simple mods but they are becoming a bit dated, though nothing added to the newer mods is anything I would need or want. I have 6 of them and am keeping my eye on sales as I'd like to add a few more to my stash. But a mod is a mod is a mod in that they all pretty much work the same. Choose a popular one and you can't go too far wrong.
