Advice on the egot Twist

Hello everyone,

I just upgraded from the ego-c to the Twist. I bought a 1.5 ohm Smoktech dual cartomizer tank and I love it! I get good flavor and a ton of thick vapor.

I'v read a lot of post that say that this is not the best set-up for the Twist. I find that hard to believe because to me, this set-up is awesome! Can someone please tell me if I'm missing something.

They work just fine but it can reduce the battery life. I never tried a single coil cartomizer until a couple of weeks after I got my twist. I can't tell a difference in vapor at all and they're actually lasting me longer... along with the battery between charges. I don't think I'll go back to a dual now.

The 1.5 can't go much above 3.9 volts on the Twist without being limited by the amps. You will probably find that the 4.0 setting performs much the same as the 4.8 setting because of the amp limit.

The 2.4 ohm gives the best range of usable voltage and single coil gives better battery life between charges.

OTOH, if you are using them and like them, Enjoy!

I use 1.8 ohms which is close to optimum. Because the current limits to about 2.5 amps, your maximum power is about I*I*R= 2.5*2.5*1.5 = 9.4 watts maximum, which most people think is plenty.

At 2.4 ohms you can't reach the current limit of 2.5 amps, even at 4.8 volts
(4.8V/2.4 ohms= 2 amps.) So the max power is 2*2*2.4= 9.6 watts, or about the same !

In other words, it appears that at least most, if not all, of the variable voltage (Twist, Provari, Lavatube, etc.) and variable wattage (Darwin, Kick) devices aren't able to provide the wattage necessary to provide as satisfying an experience with low-ohm, dual-coil feeders as they are able with low and standard single-coil types. As others have said though, if you're happy with what you are getting out of those DC's, then enjoy them and forget about it. You might consider getting a few single-coil feeders of various resistances to see if your vaping experience might be even better.
