After sampling a ton of Halo flavors, I'm going to place and order of larger bottles of my favorite flavors-Torque, Midnight Apple, Prime, Voodoo and I'm trying to make the Labor Day Sale!!!! My question is I'm using 18mg right now, but I do go lower nic at night and when I know it's going to be a "vape night" w/GFs when drinking cocktails, going out...

Is it easier to add a lower nic of Fusion and dilute an 18mg juice or go w/a lower nic juice and add Fusion at a higher nic? I'm not a DIY'er and don't get how this all works yet. My BIG concern is once I start adding Fusion, does it changes the juice taste????? Im so happy w/how these Halo flavors taste and dont want to screw this all up. I also don't want to get duplicate flavors in different nic levels cuz I'm already looking like my order will be like $80.00! But if this is the best way to go, I will do it.

sry and last question...if I tried a flavor from Halo from their sample pack, like Prime, which was 12 mg, would it taste completely different if I ordered it in 18mg?

Hi AngiBe,

I keep some 6mg and 12 mg nic in both Tribeca and Southern Classic for those times I want a lower nic level. Also mixed a couple of smaller bottles of the two nic levels together to make an "in between" nic. Something for every mood. I haven't noticed a major difference in taste between nic levels. For me, the throat hit is a little lighter, but that's about it.

I haven't tried Fusion, but since you're diluting flavored liquid with unflavored, it will make the taste less intense.

Edited to add: Totally understand not wanting dupes of every flavor. That's a huge hit to the wallet that I can't do either. There are tons of folks here with more experience than I have and hopefully someone will be by shortly to give good advice about high nic Fusion vs low nic juice.

LadyPharaoh had some great thoughts. OK AngiBe lets please back up a moment from your other thread and this thread and please humor me. ALL that I'm concerned about is that YOU never return to stinkys. Period! Please please don't obsess about how a juice is "supposed" to vape or what techniques others may use. As long as YOUR happy then I'm happy. It's your body and YOUR TASTE BUDS so their will be some variations and your "taste" will change as you continue the journey. Matter of fact, WE are all on a journey and trusting our own bodies to properly adjust during our "detox" period is a significant component.

If your going to mix NIC levels of the same Halo juice their are some additional procedures beyond the simple math of 6 plus 18 @ 50% each results in a NIC level of 12. Get some plastic bottles which mother ship Halo sells. Clean/wash them first before you use them. Most of the Halo droppers have graduated measuring lines. These will be close enough for your first joyful adventure into mixing. So 50/50 of the same juice (6 plus 18 in our example) goes into a brand new and thoroughly washed plastic bottle. Next shake the new love juice mix thoroughly for 30 seconds and yes if both component juices are "mature" the new blend will also improve slightly as the same two Halo juices with different NIC levels blend. Then from your plastic bottle mix you fill a new tank or a properly cleaned tank including the heads. Don't forget to clearly label your plastic bottle. Why all the obsessive details? We want to avoid "flavor contamination" and produce the best/purest mix possible given the equipment and goals.

:)

AngiBe- I started out with Halo 24mg/ml juice {Tribeca / Sub-Zero mix} to be positive that vaping was going to keep me from lighting back up. It turned out that this was just too much nic for me. You know that feeling when you hot-box a tobacco cig quickly? I kept getting those heebie-jeebies so I was very impressed that the Triton could indeed deliver the goods! So I stepped down by combining my 24mg juice with equal parts of 12mg to give me an effective strength of 18mg/ml.

So Tribeca @ 24mg plus Sub-Zero @ 12mg equals 18mg/ml of my everyday vape. It tastes about the same as it did before but now I don't feel like I am getting too much nic. I may even step down another nicotine level. Experimentation is a good thing! -I believe that any ex-smoker MUST have a "whatever it takes" attitude to keep from EVER lighting up again. :)

Like others have said, I think your best bet is to get different nic levels of the same juices. I haven't mixed/cut anything with Fusion, but I'm pretty sure it'll dilute the flavor and not just the nic level.

As mentioned, lower nic typically results in less throat hit. Nicotine is reportedly flavorless, so lower nic levels of the same juice shouldn't taste different. I've dropped my nic level from 24mg to 18mg, but I can't 100% say it resulted in no flavor change simply because my taste buds have changed and therefore the taste of pretty much everything has changed.

If you're ok with the next nic level or two down when you need the power nic level, then there's no point in mixing anything. If you need something in between (ie 15mg instead of 18mg or 12mg), then start mixing. Keep it as simple as possible IMO.

If you don't know what nic level will work best, buy a 7ml bottle in a couple different strengths. You can always mix the leftovers into stronger or weaker bottles to get at or near the right level once you figure it out. I wouldn't buy 30ml bottles to experiment with.

Lastly, yes it'll cost more up front to have multiple nic levels of the same 3 or so juices. However, the juices have a shelf life of about a year, so it's not like they'll go bad.

Thanks for the info Johnny and JR. I wanted to get Fusion to vape it alone and give my taste buds a break. Went through vapors tongue and don't want to go there again. Plus, wanted to dabble in DIY w/out full commitment of having to buy all the stuff..baby steps.

I'm also a little worried about FDA wiggin out on us so I was going to start stock piling nic only liquid too and figured I can start w/Fusion. Trying to get ideas on how to use it w/other flavors and if its better to buy the flavor in the higher nic level or the unflavored nic. I went ahead and got several levels of Fusion and will just start playing with it. I really would like to vape w/a little less flavor anyway although it will be difficult.
