Haven't heard anything about the v2. I don't own an authentic Aeolus (yet), but back when the clones were first dropped, I scooped up a fasttech version (the one that is NOT 1:1 and does not have adjustable airflow in the cap), and I literally haven't put it down since it came. I just took pictures of all my other drippers to sell locally because I don't see myself using another one. The only thing I may do is take some of the profit from the other drippers and get an authentic then gift this one to someone I know deserves it.

Pros:
-Some of the best flavor I've had in a dripper
-Perfect airflow for my particular vaping style (I like warm dense flavor, not so much massive vapor)
-massive "juice area" (since you only take the top part of the cap off, its ALL juice well)
-I've yet to have ANY leaking using it daily

Ya, I can corroborate that a v2 is definitely soon to be released. It's even posted on sytheticloud's site with pics, specs, and everything. I've been trying to get my hands on an authentic v1 for months now, but sorta happy I didn't seeing as I just found out the v2 will be released within a couple weeks. In fact, just yesterday, before I became aware of the v2, I was at a local vapeshop and found out a worker there owned three v1's so I was trying to convince him to sell me one. He said they go for $125 new...
I couldn't believe what I was hearing, so I told him I was very familiar wi the device and that they certainly don't, in fact I said, they go for $80 or less brand new. He kept pushing his lie trying to scam me, until I finally showed him the price I quoted on vapordna. Well, he just shrugged it off and said "supply and demand, that's what it's worth since they're so hard to come by for sale". I found this whole interaction infuriating, especially since he knowingly was lying to my face to try and scam me, they go for $80 brand new and he was trying to sell me his used device (which who knows what condition it's in) for $125?!? Some people are just despicable, smh...

In May when I posted there was no news. It's only surfaced recently from what I've seen. Looks better than the v1 though and I'm glad I didn't try to get an authentic v1 when I was looking.

I saw a post on Instagram from SynthetiCloud that stated that the tolerances of the Orings on the base are so tight on the v2 that every mm leading up to the AFC can be used as a juice well! lol, I can't wait to see what builds people come up with to make use of this feature!
Err, I hope it's not too tight, like I hope it's not difficult or requiring real effort to remove the cap to drip. Also, one of my biggest concerns for the v2 is the potential issue of spitback. Hopefully it's not the case, but it's definitely a possibility, seeing as they've made the device much shorter than the v1 and with 3x the airflow at wide open according to the syntheticloud site.

What I own:

Plume Veil V1.5
Derringer
Zennith
Aeolus
Stillare
TOBH
And a few others

Out of the aforementioned, the Aeolus is my favorite. Clouds are nice, nice as good as the Plume Veil but so close that you can't really tell the difference.
Flavor is astonishing. The best of the ones that I have. It's the only atty that maintains excellent flavor with a 1 week-old wick.
Once the V2 hits the market, I will certainly be purchasing it.
