Aerotank and mec mods any reason not to use together?

So I have a mec that only uses 18350's (my Hammer) and I have good batteries for it (rated 10 A) Now the math works out just fine, and the devices work well together, but I think I read somewhere that there is an insulator that melts easily in the lower part of those coils. Is there any truth to that? Would it be a bad idea to "tie" those two devices together in my collection? I really like how they work and look together. Cheers!

Oh if it matters for those that care I'm using the 1.5 Kanger coils in the Aerotank, AW IMR or red Efest older 800 mAh batteries, and mostly vape 50/50 juice.

Not accounting for voltage drop, you're looking at a 9.3 watt vape drawing 2.47 amps. A little less than that depending on the drop on that hammer. You're good to go!

I assume your mech can only output 3.7v--that's usually not enough voltage for dual-coil atomizers. I vape all my DC atties above 4 volts. A 1.5Ω DC atty consists of two 3Ω coils and you should calculate your wattage accordingly (3Ω and not 1.5Ω). Ergo, 3Ω at 3.7v equals 4.6 watts. That's usually way too low for most vapers.

I suggest you get a single-coil atomizer (like ProTank 2), a regulated vv mod, or rebuild your Aerotank coil with one coil. :)

you have no problems on a mech as its the same or less power than an ego battery, i got problems melting insulators when used on vw devices that push higher volts.

This was what I was looking for. Let me clear the devices are working well together and look sweet. I was looking for weaknesses in the coils that might have kept them from working on mecs. Looks like I'm golden. I'll post a pic sometime later.

I think I'm gonna use the stainless steel tank instead of the glass, but here's what it looks like.

After I go through my 10 remaining coils I'll consider ordering the lower resistance coils. I was only using the Aero on my MVP so sub-ohm was out of the question. But I'll be honest the Aerotank was kinda letting me down compared to the Nautilus. I'm actually quite pleased to find an application where I actually prefer it.

Quick aside: This board is so much more active and responsive than the others on the forum. You guys talk more here. This is awesome.
