So I've been using an Aerotank Mega on an MVP 2.0. I'm using the 1.8ohm coil. I'm also using a 50/50 juice. The issue that I'm having is that I can't push this coil beyond 7 watts without getting this metalic maichine shop taste. I'm serious anything above 7 watts tastes pretty bad. I'm on the second coil that came with the tank and I have only tried one juice with this setup (Cool Berry from Mountain Oak which is superb IMO). What is the likely culprit for not being able to drive at least 10watts for better clouds? Is it the nature of this juice? Could the stock coils be subpar in comparison to the replacement coils? What's the deal?

could be machine oil left over from wrapping the coils, many people would also recommend giving any new tank a bath before using.

Thanks. I always do a soap & water bath and then a long air dry out of the box. I just rinse with water after that. What you are saying about machine oil makes sense. I've also heard that the "free coils" can be sloppy sometimes ...and that's not Kanger specific...just in general. I've got a different Mountain Oak flavor coming in the next few days and will probably just pitch the current coil and see how the replacements do with the new juice. I was just wanting to check and make sure it's not a common thing.
