I have been using the ProTank2 on my VTR, but am getting tired of bad coils. I have heard that the AeroTank v2 will also fit the VTR. Which do you prefer and why? Also, can the drip tip be changed out on the AeroTank v2.

Note: I'm just asking about a specific product here. Please no suggestions on other stuff (e.g. RBAs), which I probably already have. I just need something for my VTR.

I prefer the single coils (used in the Protank2) vs the dual coils used in the Aerotank. I rebuild all my dual coils into single coils. I prefer a tank with airflow control. I added the new airflow base to all my Protanks to give them airflow control.

Yes, the drip tip can be changed in the Aerotank v2

Am I correct in that the heads for both of these clearos are interchangeable?

ETA: From my research, I found that the dual coil heads are guaranteed compatiable with the ProTank 3 and the new Evod/ProTank coils go into the ProTank 2, but are more burny.

Has anyone tried to put the dual coil head into a ProTank2, and did it work?

And is there much difference between the original Aerobase and the one that is out now?

Although I can rebuild, due to personal circumstances, I will not rebuild ProTank coils.

Relatively recently I got a few clearos which use protank coils. There were disgusting until I rewicked them (just remove old wick, dry burn, insert cotton wick – done; repeat as needed). Quality was improved dramatically and I still do not know for how long coils can serve – they just keep going, more than a month already. Granted, I hate sweet juices, and it helps to improve coils lifespan.

P.S. I do not like Aerotank coils also, but I am a bit afraid to rebuild it – dust layer on Aerotank is too thick and I do not have a shovel at the moment.

The clearos are about the same IMO, since I have the Aerotank base already. I'm not spending more money for a clearo I will only use on one device.

As for the ProTank coils, I just cannot rebuild them. I have arthritis in my hands, and they are just way too small. Rewicking, however, is a possibility I hadn't considered. Especially since it seems the newer coils for these are just as bad, if not worse, than the old ones. I get about a week out of one, depending on the juice I'm using. I also think it is at least worth it to try the dual coils (if, indeed, they will fit) and see what I think before choosing my course of action.

I do appreciate everyone's comments. :)

The dual coil WILL NOT work in a Protank v2. The chimney is too tall and/or thick (I can't remember which it was). The new airflow control base gives me more air and the airflow ring stays in place once I set it.

If you want better performance out of your Kanger coils I suggest you periodically clean AND dry burn them. And if you are feeling adventurous, you can learn to rebuild them (have a friend do this for you if your hands won't cooperate). I too have issues, (I'm basically one-handed as far as flexibility/dexterity/strength) so I have someone assist me here.

Ok, thank you. I tried mine (I have the original one) and it made a difference. Forgot I had it until you mentioned it. The new ones are cheap enough to try them.
