I got my GGTS yesterday!

So far, so great.
I've started with the 901 atomizer and will switch to the 510 when I get a better feel for it and know that I have it set up just right and can get a fair comparison.

There's more liquid in the collector tank than I expected, and a bit more gurgling than I expected, but my guess is that I will get used to how it should be adjusted with a bit more use. Any suggestions?

I was wondering if there was any plan to release the AFS with a nickel plating.
If so, I will fit my current AFS to the USB passthrough and get a nickel plated one for the GGTS, so it all matches.

Both the AFS v3 and AVS Tank Only that came out this round with the Nickel plated GGTS are also nickel plated.
 
I noticed the 510 connector doesn't have an O-ring to seal at the bottom, like the 901 does... Should I be using teflon tape or some other metod of sealing the threads of the connector, or should vaseline work fine for that?

Doesn't really need the o-ring around the atty on either. Just do it up tight, probably wouldn't use Vaso in my tank.

I leave it wide open always raven but if you use a thin liquid then open it only a little, about 1/8 of a turn

I tried just a little bit open, like in your video.
It's a pretty thick liquid (uncut VG) but I thought if it was too open, I would leak into the collector tank.
I'll try it wide open tonight and see what happens. I don't want to drain the liquid and go through swtiching the atomizer again at work.

I'm loving my new super-shiny nickel plated GGTS that arrived in the post today. So many developments over the original GGTS that it is like a whole new device and well worth the spend (I did have my reservations - why on earth would I need two?).

Having stumbled across a thread regarding the electrical conductivity of different metals today, I was wondering if the nickel plating would affect the conductivity of an all-aluminum GGTS? Don't get me wrong, the nickel plated GGTS produces huge clouds of vapour, but I was curious if the nickel plating would have any noticeable impact?

Also, now I have two GGTS's I have confirmed my suspicion that there has been a slight drop in performance from my old GGTS. I strip and clean my GG regularly, so I think this must be due to oxide build up between the threads on the GG atomiser connector that I can't remove. I've tried soaking in 95 p/c alcohol, using a pencil eraser, even a fine emery cloth, but a fair amount of oxidation remains. Does anyone know of a good way to get these threads completely clean?

yep, autosol is good, mother's billet, maas, simichrome, etc....or something like renaissance pre-lim which could be used on both the GGTS and the nickel plated GGTB.

nickel is a poorer conductor of electricity than aluminum is, but the nickel outshines the aluminum in terms of performance simply because of the oxidation factor. it's why people use noalox, because it contains nickel which sacrifices its ions to keep the conductivity of aluminum up. aluminum oxide is a downright terrible conductor, most oxides are, with the exception of something like silver. but soon there will be the inox (inox-idable) stainless steel versions which will take care of this. but for now, the nickel can be easily wiped down with a damp cloth or the pre-lim, and the brass and aluminum from the GGTS should be cleaned and polished regularly with a good creme like those mentioned to remove the oxide and keep it at bay.

You answered my question while I was writing my post!

Edit: So the nickel plating makes really good sense if it prevents aluminum oxide from forming, which might also explain the drop off in performance in my old GG, because there is some oxidation that the cape cod clothes just don't remove, especially around the button!
