I snagged me the last reogrand listed on the store front.I was sweating there for a little bit that I was going to miss out again but I have won the day :2cool:.Now a quick question can I use a trustfire 18650 battery or does it have to be the aw imr high drain battery that is listed as the battery to use?

Hi Streetvapor and congratulations on your Grand.......finally LoL. The advice you will get from most is to use the AW IMR 18650. Does it absolutely have to be AW IMR... no, but that is the preferred batt. :vapor:

Thanks guys.I'm going to go ahead and buy the suggested batteries. But this is my first "mod" so I'm a little uneasy about using batteries that I may have to baby sit when sitting on the charger or when I'm out at work needing to meter batteries to see when I have to switch them out.I work in the medical field and i can't be walking around seeing my patients with a volt meter in my hand lol.So my question is does the mod stop working when the batteries hit a certain voltage or will it still give me juice till the batteries drain down to the point of no return?

Get one of these. They hold a couple of batteries, a spare bottle, and if you work at it, you can cram an extra atty or carto in there as well. They're silly cheap and sold everywhere, and make a perfect support pack for your REO. As soon as you notice the vape getting weaker (and it is very noticeable when the IMR's hit their dropoff point), swap out a new batt and blaze on. I put my spent batteries back into it upside down so I can tell at a glance which one goes on the charger when I get home.

Cool good info and my last question for now till I get my reo lol is the wf-139 a good charger for these batteries? Is it pretty idiot proof with knowing when the batteries are done cooking lol. Also does this type of charger recycle the batteries during the charging so as not to create a memory in the cells?.....Wow you guys are quick to answer questions by the way :)

Edit: I went ahead and bought a Pila charger since ALOT of people seem to like them the best.

The wf-139 is the charger I use for my 18650's. It works well, and I have unthinkingly left a battery in it overnight with no ill effects. As a rule of thumb, you want to pull the batteries off the charger as soon as the lights go green, but I haven't suffered any ill effects from accidentally leaving them on there longer. Yet.

The AW IMR do not have a memory. They work the best if you pull them out and charge them before they get too low. It does extend their life. Pila's are good I have a couple of them! Very pleased!

You are doing the right thing, getting the best batteries and charger available. Like everyone said, you will feel the drop off on the AW IMR, but if you are worried about it, just switch it out every 12 hours or so. Carrying one extra charged battery will get you through a 24 hour shift without any problem.

The AW IMR batteries do not have a memory effect. They can be charged even if you only used them for a couple of hours. In fact, the manufacturer has said that will extend the life of the battery. The Pila charger is the best charger on the market and I have been able to find no reported incidents of battery failure due to use of a Pila.

If you are interested in the safety and use of rechargeable batteries in mods, this thread is filled with information: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/129569-rechargeable-batteries.html

We are actually very lucky that hobbyists from the worlds of flashlights and radio controlled airplanes have been examining these issues for years.

This might sound like a dumb question but why is the Pila so much better than any other battery charger?

Sounds good but are those the only batteries you can charge on it? Can't charge the 16340?
